Evening With Burley in Bury

The Supporters Club are hosting An Evening With George Burley at Bury Town’s Denny Bros Stadium on Thursday 2nd September.

Burley, a member of Sir Bobby Robson’s great Town team and the manager who took the Blues to play-off glory in 2000, will be telling stories from both those eras.

The bar will open at 6.30pm prior to the main event, which gets under way at 7.30pm. There will also be a raffle.

A limited number of tickets are available via Purple Sector Entertainment Events at £12 here.

Seen it said here and I keep saying it. GB's methods were not new, they were a hybrid of Sir Bobby's. His ethos was not new either, but it worked and it was all ipswich.

I firmly believe he could have turned around LAST season's squad, and properly progressed some of your youth instead of dumping them all. Maybe the moment has passed but if PC is winless in another month's time then what better option do we have?!

PMK added 18:11 - Aug 24 Think about the side he assembled also on a budget when we were in the play offs season after season and compare that to what we have witnessed since. Shows how far we have fallen and how we are a million miles away from getting back there.

Love GB and everything he has done for ITFC. Attending an evening with GB and Terry Butcher, so these events are well worth attending.
Maybe have cash to splash was Burley's downfall when manager.
Finidi George wasn't much good after a promising start and Matteo Sereni hardly galvanised the team.
Also Burley only had plan A and Plan B, if he used both of those, he went back to plan A.
Maybe a GB with an experienced first team coach could work, but for now we have to give Cook, the players and owners time...
