Good news! We need more time to get things sorted and next week wouldn't be a good time to play a team like Wycombe.

It is a sad day when Wycombe Wanderers call a match off against us because only they have international call ups.
Though to be honest I was wondering whether Ainsworth might believe they could beat us even with 3 players out.

This is positive! 2 weeks off to get the squad fit and to sort out defensive tactics! Possibly more time to bed in a few extra signings too! No excuses for Bolton!

Two weeks to get the team 0laying ad to build a winning mentality. No excuses at home to Bolton. Anything less than a win would be unacceptable.

Now then Cook, you have two whole uninterrupted weeks to finish off your ‘gelling' process, get some meaningful work done on the training pitches and hopefully get some of the injured players up and running for the Bolton game without having to nurse them through as appears to be the case with Wes Burns.
In all likelihood we will be bottom of Division 3 by then, which will be the lowest position ever recorded by ITFC since their introduction into the Football League over 90 years ago when they joined Division 3 (South). So use the break wisely, buy, read and digest some tactics manuals and hopefully you will resume showing that at last you have some knowledge of how to manage a team without having your hand held by an assistant with more tactical nous than you

This is just what Paul Cook and the squad need tbh….for once I'm happy about a postponement 🥳👍

Is playing game's or time on the training pitch what “gels” the team? If we'd had two games called off because of say COVID, wouldn't Cook and his sychophant crew be saying not playing games is the excuse? I'd remind you Wimbledon played midweek and we had a whole week of training yet ran out of puff an hour in. Performance reflects leadership.

An excellent opportunity to make about eight (or eighteen?) new signings! Then they'll need a little time - say 'til the New Year - to gel . . .

We aren't Cheque Book FC, we are Excuse Town at the moment.

I'm afraid this is not what we need! Although I half expected it. We need to get a win sooner or later. I'm also concerned that Captain Cook still thinks we are in pre season mode. More platitudes from a manager who appears out of his depth.

Wycombe...Internationals??????? How far have we fallen when Wycombe are calling off games because of International call ups.... still that's another 2 weeks of gelling..😂😂😂😂😂😂 then I suppose cook will say we have done to much gelling... what a joke of an outfit we are.

Amazed to see a couple of people using a postponement to have yet another go at Cook.
I do hope you don't have the gall to sing "if we're down or if we're up", support like that we can simply do without.

41 games to go, no-one wins anything in August. Judge him at xmas and please dont tell me about those clowns who played for him last season. If we are in the bottom 7-8 then its a different story.
We've given it away so far with mistakes, if those hadnt happened he would have been a hero.
Woolfenden against Morcombe, Fraser's poor penalty at Burton, Bonne's miss at Cheltenham, Evans against MK and a spill yesterday. We dont necessarily deserve to have won all five games but those daft individual mistakes have cost us. We've created and played through teams much better than we have in the last few seasons.
Or do you think Bonne, Edwards, Harper Burgess, Coulson, Pigott and Burns are all worse than Sears Chambers and that motley crew who didnt give a cr*p last season?

We had a ''full week on the training ground'' in the week just gone and we couldn't even beat the mighty AFC Wimbledon at home! Don't see why 2 weeks will make much of a difference. We'll still be hearing the same old excuses and delusions in 2 weeks time about 'gelling' when we fail to beat Bolton.

We could be bottom of the table come 5pm next Saturday!

Bazza totally agree. Check some of the previous posts of some, saying "I'll give Cook 12-15 games", then calling for his head after three. Type of football best since Burley, results may be bad, but I am very optimistic about this season, keep the faith.

There will be more gel than on Italian's hair soon. More reprieve time. I hope we don't get another disappointment when the gelling is completed. Getting just a bit fed up now with all the excuses. Faith is one thing but the scales are tilting in the wrong direction at the moment. New keeper and new central midfielder could be the answer if they are available. But what happens to those acquired already? I know more time geling.

I feel this is a welcome reprieve. The current first team appear mentally weak at the moment. The defence probably lacks faith in the new keeper who looks extremely shaky. The current Captain doesnt appear up to the job either. Interesting that Cook is apparently chasing one of his former Captains. Will be good business if we get that keeper from Brighton in. Cook's post-match press conferences are becoming quite formulaic and worryingly, very Lambert-esque. I'm still optimistic, but Cook's goodwill is running a little thin!
