Tuesday, 22nd Mar 2022 17:22

Town’s game at Rotherham United has moved from Good Friday to the Saturday for live Sky coverage, while the home match against Wigan Athletic has moved to the Tuesday as a result.

The Blues will now face the table-topping Millers at the New York Stadium at 12.30pm on Saturday 16th April.

The Latics, who are a point behind the South Yorkshiremen in second, will now be at Portman Road on Tuesday 19th April with a 7.45pm start, the game having initially been scheduled for the Monday.

Ticketing details for the Rotherham game can be found on the club site.

Agreed. I have a season ticket but tend not to go to midweek games as the journey's quite far and it means getting back pretty late. If we're still in with a shout, I may well go, but if not, I doubt it.

What an absolute bunch of bellends we have on these comments!
It is rotherhams home game to determine what they do not ours!!!
And to watch an away game live on the telly! Result for the masses! Get a grip you moaners! I love it and makes perfect sense

Churchmans....a result for the lazy soulless armchair fans but not for those who truly have it in their blood ! Thankfully it doesn't affect my plans, but commiserations to those who'd already booked accommodation in Yorkshire on the thursday night who's plans are scuppered. As always; the people who really matter don't matter!!

Yeas Chepstowblue, totally agree. Easter weekend is the longest BH of the year and we all had plans to accommodate these two games.
I can personally adjust easily so it's no biggie for me but I had been looking forward to Friday Monday and I can see why fans with long journies are annoyed.

Feel bad for the people who have plans but glad I can see the game against Rotherham on telly without resorting to, ahem, unofficial means.

We live in the corporate world of football - for better or worse, often the latter imho.

It will only get worse as we progress to higher leagues. Sky the worst thing that happened to true football fans everywhere as many away games are now out of reach of those relying on public transport who now have to miss out, incur hotel costs or get home at silly o'clock in the morning.

Agree this is bad. Feel sorry for the non-suffolk based fans.

It's also dreadful for the (handful of) Wigan fans that are making the trip to Ipswich

completely different squad. With a bit of luck these guys won't be shabby just because there's a few extra cameras about. Last lot were pretty boys that got distracted and less professional

While I understand people moaning about having already booked a hotel, but with this much notice it's easy to change it. The Tuesday game a bit more annoying as would of been a big crowd on the Monday. If we ever get to the prem, you better get used to all the dates being moved. Not many Saturday 3pm games there
