Player of the Year Voting to Start on Friday
Thursday, 31st Mar 2022 14:54

Voting for this season’s official Supporters Club Player of the Year gets under way tomorrow morning at 8am.

The award is expected to be hotly contested with a number of players potentially in the running for the coveted Harwich Rosebowl, which was carried off last year by James Wilson.

Votes can be cast via the Supporters Club website from 8am on Friday until 8pm on Thursday 7th April.

The winner will be announced at the Supporters Club’s Player of the Year Awards event on Saturday 30th April, which takes place following the final game of the season against Charlton. In addition, all this season debutants will receive their traditional salver.

Tickets will go on sale on Saturday from 1pm-2pm from a table in the marquee in the Fanzone and also before the Wigan game from the same location from 6.30pm-7.30pm.

Tickets can also be reserved for collection and payment by emailing contact@itfcsupporters.co.uk at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s who must be accompanied by an adult. Further information on the event will be announced in due course.

Janoi Donacien… he has been the most consistent performer in every game over the whole season by far! Easy choice!!!

Celina, absolute class

But to be fair there are plenty of others worth voting for, what a change from having to vote for the goalkeeper and Waltons been brilliant but got to be an outfield player this season.

Isn't it great not to feel we have to vote for someone (like last year) or that Bart gets it for keeping us in so many games? To have so many solid options is a testament to how the club and players have changed and developed this year…mainly over the last 14 weeks. Burns for me but no problems with Walton, Donacien, Celina, Morsy, Fridge, Wolf… 👍🔥

At least this season there are many genuine candidates, unlike last season.

It's a mix up of 4 or 5 players in my opinion, maybe Burns just nicking it from Woolfie, Walton, Janoi and Morsey.

Quite a few candidates for a change, Walton, Wolfman, Morsy, Burns, Celina, Edmondson, but for me I totally agree with Blocker123 it has to be Donacien. Easily the most consistent player and if you also take into consideration the journey he has been on since joining the Club. I still remember him playing Albert Adomah off the Park when Lambert subsedquently said he was never a right-back. Great partnership with Wes Burns and I think all the other players would be really pleased for him if he won the award. I bet he wins the players vote!!

Let's not forget Aluko. Many couldn't understand his signing in the Summer, me included... But I think he's been outstanding this year. You never worry when he's on the ball, he's given everything every game and I think really leads from the front and by example.

Burns has been brilliant but also inconsistent in crossing passing shooting etc. Consistency of performance Donacian all day long.

First time for a long time we've had a list of contenders. It could be any one of four or five players and there's still six games to go so things could change. My vote goes to Wes Burns why you might say. He scores goals some which are important ones creates opportunities and works very hard for the team doing his fair share of defensive work. Only criticism is that he could show a bit more composure when bearing in on goal in the penalty area and possibly look for a teammate.

Forgot to say Donacian by far the most improved player at the club. Walton goalkeeper of the season (not funny) .
