Town On Course For Highest Season Ticket Sales in a Decade
Thursday, 21st Apr 2022 18:20

Town say they are on course to sell more season tickets ahead of 2022/23 than they have in more than a decade.

The renewal and early bird phase one window closes at 5pm on Friday evening, the last chance for existing season ticket holders to renew their seats at the lowest price.

Early bird phase two begins at 10am on Tuesday 3rd May and runs until Thursday 30th June with a pause between Monday 23rd May and Monday 30th May to allow ticket office staff to process seat releases and other administrative work.

From Friday 1st July, season tickets will be available at full price until Saturday 30th July, the opening day of the season.

“We're delighted with season ticket sales so far,” CEO Mark Ashton told the club site. “I have been informing the ownership group this week in the US with the figures and they are blown away by the support, but let's not stop here. We need to be all in this together.

“On behalf of the football club, I would like to thank everyone who has committed for next season.”

During 2021/22, the Blues had around 13,800 season ticket holders.

Although its disappointing we did not achieve promotion this season the level of entertainment has been very good and in view of this i have already renewed my season ticket. I just hope there are not too many changes as we cannot afford another major rebuilding season. One of McKenna's biggest challenges will be to convince our better players to commit themselves to another season in league one. I think the player that will be in the biggest demand will be Sam Morsy especially by the teams that gain promotion to the Championship.

Ok I'll ask.

How many season tickets did we sell ten years ago?

Morsy wił be on decent money, beyond Wigan and Rotherham ? if Sheff Wed , Sunderland go up they might come shopping

I think the WOLF, Walton and Edmundsen will be the ones though.

I believe all the players are on contract who you mentioned
Town get more fans in league one apart from Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland who have not gone up yet we also have wealthy owners who have high expectations I think only who the club wants to lose wi they lose unless a stupid bid that can't be refused.

Apart from the league position and weak Cup performances, this season has had good football and a feeling of connection that has been lacking since maybe 2008-9?

Way to go Town fans 👍 awesome, and let's keep it going….

As for any players wishing to leave the club this summer. Fine, there's the door. You are not bigger than this Club and we will more than do well without you , whoever you are, and we would replace you. So you're either with us (the owners, the fans, the club) or you're not. Choice is yours.

Just over 14k sold in the 15/16 season would be the highest in the last 10 years.

whilst i do understand peoples comments about the disappointments of this season, we've put some excellent foundations in place. I think the exit door will be three times busier that the the arrivals one this summer, i can see 4 or so in and 10/12 out.
ST sales will keep growing, there's much to be excited about with the way the club is being run and it's only a matter of time, with a stronger squad next season, before it comes together with a promotion push.

Edmundo - you have summed this season up exactly. That Wigan match was the best I have seen us play for ages. The commitment shown by the players was superb. That is what has been missing during the Evans years. I for one now feel as close to the club as I ever have during the past 50 years.

I expect that next season managers of teams that we beat will all moan about how much money we have spent; we can spend it because we have a large fan base!

Some of our fans make me laugh, talking about the likes of morsy, walton, etc leaving. Get real. They're all on long term contracts with the club, qnd hsve made it clear they're committed to the project here. Of course we could end up getting a bid that we couldn't refuse, but that'd have to be extremely high. We're no longer a club who needs to sell.
