TWTD Prediction League Winner 2021/22
Wednesday, 4th May 2022 11:31

The TWTD Prediction League, sponsored by the Away Days Beer Company, was as keenly contested as ever during 2021/22 but with matty81 ultimately emerging as the winner by an impressive seven points.

Congrats to the victor, who wins an Away Days Brewing Day, a chance to visit the Away Days Beer Company’s headquarters in Nottinghamshire and help to brew one of their ITFC beers, as well as receiving an Away Days 12-pack with some of that beer included, plus a £150 Amazon voucher.

In second was chepstowblue with 95 points to the winner’s 102, and they win and Away Days 24-pack of their choice and a T-shirt, plus a £100 Amazon voucher.

Third was Seablu on 88, they receive an Away Days 12-pack and T-shirt plus a £50 Amazon voucher.

The Prediction League, which is essentially the same competition we’ve been running since August 2000, will start again ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Congratulations Matty81. I doubt we'll finish in the top 150 next season !!

its a nutty ranking system that makes no sense, i finished on 38pts but the 3 above me have the same points but played more games than me ???
surely the person with the least played games should be on top if several have the same points ??

Bobble...as far as I'm aware the person with the most correct predictions is placed higher if the totals are the same, rewarding those who participate every week. I understand what you're saying though. If it was based on an 'average pts per game' system you'd be sitting higher.

Well done matty81 & ChepstowBlue, impressive indeed .

For me, finishing on page 1 of the table is the pinnacle of my prediction career to date! so tho I normally dislike the number 13, I'm happy enough, esp since Storm Franklin meant no power & no internet for days, therefore 2 missed games (and forgot another evening game was on, doh!)

Roll on next season :) 👍

Ryorry.....you were well up there at one stage if I remember.... with games in hand! It's the first time I've participated, and when I got Morecambe,Burton and Cheltenham for 21pts after 3 games I told myself ..."I'm quite good at this". Matty81 's 102pts is a spectacular effort to be fair.

Hi Matty - yes, cheers, 2nd or 3rd at one time iirc - those 2-2 draws were v. "profitable" at start of the season!! even if not so good for league pozzy :(

I felt guilty benefitting from those results, and ultimately that slow start to the season went a long way towards our undoing, and playing catch up was beyond us. I adopted the mindset of....'got to predict with the head not the heart'.
