Ladapo: Buzzing to Have Signed
Monday, 30th May 2022 19:44

New Blues striker Freddie Ladapo says he’s buzzing to have signed for Town.

The 29-year-old, who was released by Rotherham at the end of the season, will join the Blues on a three-year deal once his Millers contract is up at the end of June.

“I am buzzing to have signed for the club,” Ladapo told the club site. “Ipswich Town has great history and great fans, and I can't wait to get out there at Portman Road.

“I've enjoyed seeing the stadium closer up today, as have my family, and I am looking forward to playing here as a home player.

“The manager was a great influence in me coming here. We have had great conversations and we get on really well.

“I thoroughly enjoy listening to him talk about his thought processes, views and objectives as they fit in with mine. It really helps when you connect with a manager and I can't wait to work with him.

“The plan next season is to score goals and help the Club achieve its goals. I will give it my all and work hard for the side. I want to help the group and drive the standards.”

Looks a solid signing, and seems a lovely lad too. Should boost the dressing room further and will be helpful to him living much closer to home.

Talk, athletic, good in the air and a presence in the box - all things we have lacked for some time, probably since Murphy…………………

………………looks possible!?!

COYB!!!

Very shrewd signing. Gives us a bit of physicality and pace in the area.

Best of luck, Freddie.

One of my best friend from when I lived in Sheffield, a lifelong Miller's fan reckons he's a good signing.
'He should do well for you - he's a great goal scorer - not sure what happened with him at Rotherham but in the latter half of the season he seemed to go a bit mardy'.

He seems like the kind of player we don't already have, so a great signing on a free!

Rotherham scraped over the line in the second half of the season without him
I like the fact that lots of his goals are in the 6 yard box, has a physical presence, lots seems to make sense about this signing.

Good signing, he gives us(as previous posts said) a presence that we have lacked for some time and we are doing business early!!

A lot of negative vibes from the Roth Faithful.
Mainly seems to be because he wanted to leave in Jan.
We've got a league one striker who is proven over multiple campaigns.
Offers us something we've lacked for years.
As far as style goes from what I've seen he reminded me of a quicker Kenwyne Jones.
Deceptively good feet for a big man.

We need to get out of league one and in that respect this is a very good signing. Maybe not for the long term future might need to upgrade when we get promoted to the championship but what we need for league one football.

A handful on the pitch when things are going well for him, but a handful off the pitch when they are not. A high risk/high reward signing, but several clubs showed keen interest. He's certainly got finishing instincts, which we sorely need. Welcome Freddie!
