As expected both Town and Spurs will be fielding strong reserve sides when they meet at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm). The Blues include Darren Ambrose, Mark Venus, Martijn Reuser and Finidi George in their line-up as well as Richard Naylor in an unusual central defensive role.

James Pullen is in goal for Town after Andy Marshall was withdrawn ready for next week's Worthington Cup match at Liverpool.

Of the starting Town XI only right-back Erdem Artun has not made an appearance for the first team, with most of the side very experienced.

Defender Wayne Brown, available on a free transfer, will be hoping to impress watching scouts after talking to Watford and interesting Wimbledon and Gillingham.

Tommy Miller is back in action again after a knee problem.

For Spurs, ex-Town star Mauricio Taricco is in the side along with Les Ferdinand, Chris Perry, Ben Thatcher, Stephen Clemence and Sergei Rebrov.
