SO exciting! I guess there may be some benefit to playing sides under new management (Liverpool, Brighton) early on

Very difficult start to begin with and winnable games at the end. Who knows what we are capable of until we know our squad players. It is one hell of a return to the PL after 22 years. Tickets will be like gold dust.

Baptism by fire. liverpool have a new manager which may benefit us. our last 4 look good though if we are needing some points for survival

It’s been so long I can only relate it to a fantastic draw in the FA Cup every week….

Oh, this is so good to see.

Look, I have zero expectations next season. Obviously hope to stay up, but my plan is to savour every moment watching us in this league.

Win or lose, we back The Blues. Uppa Towen.

Certainly a tough two openers but it gets these two games out of the way early on while many of their players will still be recovering from summer internationals and world wide friendly tours. Very few clubs would be sure of winning these two fixtures and anything we do get from them will be a bonus.

These two games will give us a close up insight to the demands of the PL and help us to face the demands of facing up to and beating clubs with whom we will really be competing against for survival - those who are perennially mid to lower table. Perform well against these clubs and we will be OK. Leave the so called Big Six/Seven to battle out their own positions and let us enjoy watching them for the quality of players they will bring to Portman Rd

@DeliasMashedPotato: Or needing some points to cement a European place!

Great when you see it all there in the diary! So much to look forward to. Normally you see a run of dull games in League One in recent years on paper, but every month there are crackers to look forward to now!

Some tasty fixtures in there! Start home to Liverpool and away at Man City! Villa at Portman on Sept 28th, Christmas with Newcastle & Chelsea at home with Boxing Day away at Arsenal...then back to back Man City & Liverpool again end of Jan. Then Arsenal at Portman Road on my birthday. Wallop!

Each month there's a decent home game - Liverpool August, Villa Sept, Everton October, Man Utd November, Newcastle/Chelsea December, Man City January, Spurs February, Arsenal April, West Ham/ Brentford May....the only quiet month is March with Forest....We could probably do with a breather around then anyhow!

What a year ahead!

Football fans everywhere, new season, great optimism. Me: where are the points going to come from?

A quick look at the table, both Liverpool & Man City are below us, so...... NO worries :-)

Just two seasons ago, our opening 5 leagues fixtures included Forest Green, MK Dons, Burton and Shrewsbury

You can't help thinking that these fixtures are NOT randomly selected. Last 4 games are obviously picked thinking that we and the last 4 teams will be scrapping for survival. Pretty sure Sky had some input to these fixtures for tv viewing figures. As for the first two games, expecting us to get a good tonking. I realise the Liverpool game is on TNT sports and not sky

Can't see many really difficult games there.

With all the FFP punishments, we could kick off the season 5th or 6th from bottom and several points clear of the relegation zone. Sadly, the PL will probably find a way to waive or suspend all punishments.
