TWTD Euros Sweepstake Winner
Wednesday, 17th Jul 2024 10:00

Nearly 850 TWTD users entered our Euro 2024 sweepstake with one of the 42 posters allocated Spain the winner.

Ahead of the tournament, each of the 842 who entered were randomly handed a team to follow throughout the competition.

A prize of a £25 Amazon voucher was on offer to one of the users allocated the team which ultimately carried off the trophy.

And the winner chosen at random from the 42 who were given Spain, who beat England 2-1 in the final, was Kizaitfc. Congratulations to them and thanks to everyone else for taking part.

For those of you who are interested, I have run my sweepstake for every World Cup and Euro since 1994. In my sweepstake for Euro24, for example, I had 480 entries available (I sold 440). Each entry has TWO ordered teams on it and accumuklates a 'score' throughout the tournament that is determined by goals scored and conceded by each team on the entry. I have 3 prizes in my sweepstake and it is usual for the winning entries to contain teams other than the winners of the tournament. This makes it much more interesting as you can win with any team from the 24 on your entry otherwise in a straight one team draw you obviously cannot win with, say, Albania. The winning combinations in Euro24 were:
SPAIN-SLOVENIA
SERBIA-GEORGIA
ENGLAND-TURKIYE

If anybody wants further details on how this works and how it is managed (via a spreadheet and macro) you may contact me on stuart@capricorn14.com
