That's probably 7 league games if all goes well with recovery, & maybe another 2 before he is match fit. Another centre forward of quality is an absolute must of a signing now. I was really impressed with the continued improvement in Delap today; he has clearly worked hard at adapting to the McKenna approach to centre forward play, & must be a good listener in the Omari mould. His finishing could be sharper, but he is a beast & will continue to develop as the season goes on.
It was very noticeable that Ladapo & Al Hamadi are very different forwards, who don't work at their best with their back to goal, for winning & holding possession against tight markers. We need a Hirst or Delap type who can take pressure of the defence, as well as for their goal threat; the ball just doesn't stick that way with Freddie & Ali, and Premier League defenders will take no prisoners.
With the intensity of play needed, Delap will only be effective for a hour or so before being called to the bench; we have to have a similar style replacement to take his place, while it's unthinkable to consider our predicament if he too picks up an early injury.

Agree but Liverpool and Man City town are making up the numbers, Town have enough strength to get something out of Fulham, hoping by the end of the month Town will have a team that can have a go at the big boys and not make up the numbers

We have to go with what we have got and bringing in a striker in the next 7 days won't help against Liverpool, the games comes too soon. Players need time to adapt. I think we will set up in a similar way next Saturday as we did against Nice today. I was heartened by the display. It will be what it will be, panicking will help nobody, we still need the right players in and they need time to adapt. I trust KM and his staff, lets hope Mark Ashton can pull off a couple of cracking signings before the window closes.

In many ways, it is a good thing that we face Liverpool and Man City first as these are two shots to nothing. Better that that a period in the season when all the games have a chance of getting something. And you never know. Football is unpredictable.

Inevitably and rather sadly some of these people will get a lot of joy this season seeing us lose and at times there maybe heavy losses for them to gloat over.

Hands up, who would take survival this season? well I would and any town fan should settle for that, its gonna be a tough season ahead no doubt about that. There will of course will the same ones moaning even if we have a better than expected season, we could finish just outside top 6 and some will complain that our recruitment wasn't good enough. I think we should appreciate where we are and how far we have come and know that Ashton and co will leave no stone unturned!

We have a very high possibility that after our first game we could have zero points, the same as Norwich who lost to Oxford! Happy day in Norwich on Monday!

LB makes some very valid points; it was never going to be easy to aquire players in this transfer box, and selling clubs were and are bound to be themselves trying to stabilise and balance finances for the season ahead . ITFC to them must be an attractive purchaser ,but equally negotiations won’t be straight forward .
There can be no doubt that MA and KM know exactly what they seek ,what,if any, compromise might be acceptable — and that the financial controls at ITFC will be cautiously observed (as usual) .

Delap has made some excellent strides forward since his arrival, he’s going to cause some headaches for defenders,looking like he’s going to be a beast, not sure I can take 90 minutes of our goalie, I’m sure he’ll calm down

Delap will be a handful I am confident but we can’t rely on Ladapo off the bench and Hamadi needs to develop really on loan elsewhere for a season. We 100% need another striker, I hear Leicester have made a £22m bid on Llondis, maybe we might might still be in that deal? Could be an interesting week regarding possible signings. Smodzics saga is just madness, the player hardly celebrated his goal the other day and looked to be saying goodbye at the end of the game…… is this a sign he’s coming here? Fingers crossed we get another 3 or 4 in before the end of the window.

8 weeks out. 2 or 3 weeks to get fit. Will play 2 or 3 games and will be out injured again.
