Swansea Sack Sheehan Tuesday, 11th Nov 2025 13:50 Swansea City have sacked head coach Alan Sheehan following their 4-1 defeat to the Blues at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday.
Irishman Sheehan, 39, was appointed in April after a second stint as caretaker-manager having been assistant boss to both Michael Duff and Luke Williams prior to that.
Swansea City owners Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen said: “Alan has been instrumental in helping improve the club through two periods of time.
“Alan has a tireless work ethic, an honest approach and a positive attitude. He has put his full effort into the job on behalf of the club.
“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Alan for all of his hard work during his time at Swansea City. We wish Alan and his family all the best for the future.”
The defeat to Town saw the Swans drop to 18th in the Championship, having won one game - and that a 2-1 home success against second-bottom Norwich City - in their last seven matches.
After Saturday's game, Sheehan admitted his team was “nowhere near the level that we have been performance-wise” and that his side was “second best totally”.

Blimy that's now three championship clubs looking for a new manager. Looks like O'Neil will have his pick of the 3. Hopefully the scum will choose Russell Martin.

GForce, don’t you mean Wayne Rooney?

What's this got to do with Ipswich ? The fact we were the last club to play Swansea is immaterial.

It happened after we gave them a pounding. It's news!

Good job we’re playing these struggling teams now to build confidence, cos December looks brutal.

2nd manager to lose their job this season after a heavy defeat to Town, Ruben Selles, then Alan Sheehan...just a matter of time before we make it a hattrick

Seems to me football chairmen are more incompetent than MPs .

I'm surprised Agent Manning wasn't sacked after playing us too.

backwaywhen- why a Leeds fan ? Ipswich fan for about 53 years mostly as a season ticket holder. A season ticket holder now. Just don't see the point in a story that's sod all to do with Ipswich !

I think you will find it is four clubs without a permanent manager now: Swansea, Middlesboro, Southampton and Norwich. West Brom and QPR don't have great recent records either

Dubchief......I would love them to hire Rooney, but I think he has given up on management, now he's on that lucrative £800000 a year contract with the BBC. (Even though he is a terrible pundit !)

If you don’t want to read a story about Swansea sacking their manager then why would you click a headline that says “Swansea sack Sheehan”?

In my opinion they were the worst side we've played this season away..1st half languid with no threat, had a fairly good more up-tempo 10 minutes into the 2nd half but soon came unstuck. So the Championship merry go round goes on...

Maybe one of these days ( and I'm certainly not holding my breath ), the real culprits of all this crazy managerial hiring and firing will be the ones to face the music. I refer to the incompetents who put the wrong managers into jobs in the first place, and in some cases, frequently!

It’s fine margins, had Walton not have made that save, with the game at 2-2 who knows! He maybe lasts a little longer. That said I remember going to Swansea in 2018 and winning 3-2 with a Trevoh Challobah strike late on, we were awful that day and stole that victory, Paul Hurst sacked soon after! Anyone complaining about things now would do well to remember those times!

Football owners are so short sighted, apart from the weekend result Swansea's record is not so bad. Give the manager time at least until Xmas to turn the results around. Norwich and Southampton were in dire straits and the right decision was made. Having watched the game on TownTV our performance was good. Cam Burgess's 2nd goal was trying to stop Nunez from connecting with Cajuste cross. The only Swansea player trying to prevent a goal. It is interesting when Town perform well our number 12 turns into the grime reaper. It happened against Sheff Utd. A football manager's contract is like the weather you never predict it. Man Utd's manager has survived a few storms and he is still there. luckily KMc lives and works in sunny Suffolk.

Dissboy, you're quite right. We played well and deserved to win, but I still felt a better team would have exploited our weaknesses more. At 2-2 and with Swansea pressing quite well around that point (i.e. 2-1 in reality), things could easily have gone another way. But we march on. If we're in a good position after December, we can begin to dream. Atm, it's still a bit too early, perhaps. One game at a time, as they say ....

Strange how the director of football seems to keep his job all the time. Picks the manager, has a hand in signing most of the players.

Well if the reason Cam left us is to further his international career by getting more game time it surely won’t help if they are relegated to league 1.
