Town's second string are in action on Wednesday night at Portman Road when they face Charlton Athletic (KO 7pm). Former Town star Hermann Hreidarsson could be involved for the Addicks after recovering from his gashed leg.

As usual it is a very young Town side with Alun Armstrong the only player to have made more than a handful of first team appearances. The former Boro man, still getting to fitness after his wrist injury, is set to start up front with Dean Bowditch.

The game will also provide a chance to see players like 16-year-old central defender Aidan Collins and midfielder Antonio Murray in action. Joe Royle has said that both players will come into his first team plans next season.

Squad: James Pullen, Scott Mitchell, Lee Chaffey, Antonio Murray, Aidan Collins, Gerard Nash, Nabil Abidallah, Matt Bloomfield, Alun Armstrong, Dean Bowditch, Stuart Boardley, Daniel Flack, Scott Peat, Adem Atay, Craig Reid and Sam Morrow.
