Town Women Sign Hibs Winger

Ipswich Town Women have signed winger Rosie Livingstone from Scottish Premier League Hibernian.

The 20-year-old, who was nominated for the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award last season, has signed a two-year deal, the clubs having agreed an undisclosed fee.

Scotland U23 international Livingstone made her debut for Hibs as a 15-year-old and has gone on to make 101 appearances, scoring 22 goals.

In 2025/26 she scored seven goals and picked up 13 assists in 35 appearances, and won her club’s Player of the Year and Goal of the Season awards.

“I’m so excited to be here and can’t wait to get started,” Livingstone told the club site.

“I like to be aggressive, both on and off the ball, and I also enjoy going forward and making things happen.

“I just want to contribute as much as I can and hopefully put ourselves in a good position come the end of the season.”

Town Women’s technical director Sean Burt added: “We’re thrilled to have Rosie on board with us.

“There were some obstacles we had to navigate to get this done, but that shows just how much both ourselves and Rosie wanted this to happen.

“She’s a player who will get people off their seats and as a person she’s a fantastic character who’ll add a lot to the group on and off the pitch.”

To those asking about Portman Road, the club has already announced that more than 1 game will be played at PR this season due to the reduced schedule and the longer international breaks

Mark added 19:01 - Jun 29 I wonder if this is the first time the Women's team paid a transfer fee for a players. I can only remember free transfers and loans, but could be wrong. I agree with the comments about playing at Portman Road, as the team should play in front of the people of Ipswich, not Colchester.

I wonder what the threshold is,to be able to play at Portman Road.Surely if only the Cobbold Stand was open and we got a crowd of 2,000 to 3,000,that would be enough.By using the Cobbold Stand it means there would not be a need to open the whole Stadium,thus needing less Stewards.At Colchester we getting over 1,000,which I think is good.But I am sure we would get more in Ipswich.

Great to see this happening. I believe the Women's set up are thinking big. As for games being played at Portman Road, I'm old enough to remember the times when the youth team matches and the reserve team matches as well as the first team matches were played there. I doubt they made much, if any money off those, and of course it was a 100% grass pitch, not a woven hybrid like today's that's tougher. Just shows how brilliant a groundsman Alan Ferguson was. Also shows I suspect how much money is more important than anything else in the modern game. That's not an outright criticism, more in the way of an observation!
