Manchester United and Liverpool Games Move For Sky
Tuesday, 7th Jul 2026 15:00

Town’s early season games against Manchester United and Liverpool have moved for live Sky Sports coverage.

The newly promoted Blues will now travel to Old Trafford on Sunday 30th August (KO 4.30pm), while the Merseysiders visit Portman Road on Friday 4th September (KO 8pm).

Those games following Town’s opening home fixture against Sunderland on 22nd August, what’s likely to be a rare Saturday 3pm kick-off during the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Round 4 & 5 have also been announced so would I be correct to assume Palace Away and Everton Away are now confirmed as Saturday 3pm? Palace will start in Europe the week after they play us.

Not surprised anymore. We will probably be on Sky less often than last season though.

I have many lightningboy, however if I put them here I’d be banned. Even less recovery for the Liverpool game now after a long trip to Utd.

Amazes me how many people slag off sky. They changed the landscape of football, without sky TV money in the game of football would look a whole lot different. Yes more 3pm games would be good, but at the same time for the people who do not regularly attend games its probably nice to be able to watch so many games on TV.

Well given that Skys TV money is funding our on field redevelopment and has been for the last couple of years I think we have to live with a bit of this

We can moan, but we need to win another European trophy. We need to just ride with it. Gazza wants it on his CV, we want it, let go with it. We are champions, champions of Europe .......

No point moaning you knew it was coming and with more teams than ever involved in Europe it'll get worse.

I don't really get the nostalgia and love for Sat 3pm. The world has moved on. Fewer people work Mon-Fri 9-5 than ever. There will be some who can't make Sat 3pm in the same way there will be some that can't make 4.30 sun or 8pm Fri.

I personally would love it if all games moved to evening kick offs, they're always better games atmosphere wise.

And if you're gonna dig Sky out, do it for pricing people out of their subscription feesand pushinfg them towards the "stick" rather than the schedule. Remember where football clubs get the majority of their revenue.

Welcome to the 21st century.

My other team is AFC Telford which means I can probably get to more of their games now. Although will always try and make Ipswich games where possible
