Women's Subway Players Cup Fixtures Announced

Town Women’s Subway Players Cup group fixtures have been confirmed.

The competition for WSL and WSL2 clubs has switched format from last season with 23 teams taking part in one league table during the group stage, playing six matches in a regionalised section. The three sides in the Champions League - Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea - aren’t involved to reduce their schedule.

The top eight clubs at the end of the league phase go through to the quarter-finals.

Town open their campaign with a home match against London City Lionesses on Wednesday 30th September at the JobServe Community Stadium in Colchester.

London City Lionesses (H) - Wednesday 30th September (7.30pm KO) - JobServe Community Stadium

Wolves (A) - Sunday 18th October (2pm KO) - Molineux

Watford (A) - Saturday 31st October (3pm KO) - The Hive Stadium

Charlton Athletic (A) - Wednesday 11th November (7.30pm KO) - The Valley

Southampton (H) - Sunday 22nd November (2pm KO) - JobServe Community Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur (H) - Wednesday 16th December (7pm KO) - JobServe Community Stadium

@jazzback there is a chance that some of these games (as well as league games) can change to Portman Road. Ashton said that with the men having a reduced schedule compared to the Championship season, more womens games will be played at Portman Road this season and the view is to try find a more permanent home in the Ipswich area next year

Now both mens and womens fixtures have been announced they are possibly in the process of deciding which games can be played at PR without impacting the mens schedule too much (also taking into account possible fixture changes for the men for cup/international/TV reasons). The past couple of times they have been at Portman Road they announced the change about a couple of months in advance and still draw good crowds and with things like international breaks (some of them longer) there is more opportunity this season to see the women at PR

With only 11 leagues games, I think we will probably get about 3-5 league games at PR this season, as well as a couple of cup games (especially if against higher opposition)
