Al-Hamadi's Polish Loan Move Off

Blues striker Ali Al-Hamadi’s season-long loan move to Polish club Raków Częstochowa is off due to an issue which emerged during the Iraq international’s medical.

As reported on Monday, the 24-year-old was set to join the Ekstraklasa side but, according to Weszlo, they have now pulled out of the move due to concerns about a cardiac issue identified in the medical.

In response to the move breaking down, Al-Hamadi posted a heart emoji, a thumbs-up and a smile on Instagram.

Al-Hamadi, who was with Iraq at the World Cup finals in the summer, spent last season on loan at Luton Town and the Blues will now look for an alternative destination for the frontman.

The former AFC Wimbledon man has another two years left on his Town contract.

fifeblue added 21:58 - Aug 6 Does anyone recall in the 1970s when Don Revie wanted to sign Asa 'hole in the' Hartford and called it off owing to a supposed heart condition? Hartford went to Manchester City and had a fabulous career there as well as with Scotland in the World Cup in Argentina in 1978. All is far from lost with Ali Al-Hamadi.

Hugoagogo_Reborn added 22:29 - Aug 6 Wishing Ali the best of news regarding this troubling issue. Let's hope at worst, they've identified an issue that can be managed a la Christian Ericsson, and at best, can be managed conservatively, without any disruption to his career.

trevski_s added 23:08 - Aug 6 As someone who suffers with heart/cardiac issues myself I feel this one and hope Ali is okay :( He is still young and got a long future ahead of him so hopefully if the club is still wanting to send him out on loan another club goes in for him. Depending on the extent of the issue, he could still potentially play but have to be managed and rested a bit more often

Without sounding callous, he will be on PL wages so his health can afford to be absolutely front and centre of everybody's priorities. I trust the club will make the very best resources available to help.

jazzback added 10:19 - Aug 7 I'm sure he would have had many medicals and health checks both for club and country throughout his career. So hopefully this is very minor issue, but some clubs can't afford to take risks I know different issues but Cajuste failed medicals but did well when here for us because we took that risk.

bluediver added 14:44 - Aug 7 It may not be all bad news for him. I remember Connor Goldson was found to have a heart defect in a regular screening whilst at Brighton and then went on to make a further 200 plus appearances for Brighton (PL) and Rangers (SL) after having an op.
