Town’s Carabao Cup third round tie against Arsenal at Portman Road will be played on Tuesday 15th September and will be shown live on Sky Sports Football (KO 8pm).

Arsenal are in Champions League action in the week commencing September 7th when most ties are taking place.

The teams last met in the competition at the semi-final stage in January 2011 when the Blues won the first leg 1-0 at Portman Road, Tamas Priskin netting the goal, before losing 3-0 at the Emirates, Nicklas Bendtner, Laurent Koscielny and Cesc Fàbregas scoring.

Prior to that, Town beat the Gunners 2-1 at Highbury in the third round in October 2000, Jamie Clapham and James Scowcroft on target for the Blues and Igors Stepanovs for the home side.

The teams also faced one another in the second round in September 1970 when Arsenal won a replay at Highbury 4-0, Ray Kennedy scoring twice and John Roberts and John Radford once each, after a 0-0 draw at Portman Road.
