Manchester United striker Matheus Cunha and the Blues security guard whose glasses he broke after a clash during the Brazilian’s time at Wolves, hugged out their differences when they were reunited at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Security guard Chris, who looks after Town bosses on a matchday, was elbowed in the head and had his glasses broken by Cunha during a post-match melee after the Blues had won 2-1 at Molineux in December 2024.

But the incident appeared to have been firmly put behind them when they were spotted meeting up on the Old Trafford pitch at the final whistle on Sunday.

Speaking prior to the match, Blues manager Gary O’Neil, who coincidentally was in charge of Wolves that day, had indicated that the matter had long been put to rest.

“Cunha apologised, obviously, for that,” he said. “These things go on. I don’t think that’s a reflection of Matheus as a character at all.

“I know Chris has forgiven him. Chris has forgiven me for allowing Cunha to do that as well, if it even was my fault. Matheus is a good guy.”
