Defender Issa Diop and forward Sindre Walle Egeli are set to add to their international caps later today.

Diop’s Morocco host Gabon in their opening Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Rabat with the centre-half set to become the first player with Town to represent his nation (KO 8pm).

The 29-year-old has previously won nine full international caps, scoring one goal.

Walle Egeli’s Norway U21s face the Netherlands away in Deventer this evening (KO 5.30pm) needing one win to secure qualification for next summer’s European Championship in Serbia and Albania with home matches against Bosnia & Herzegovina on September 29th and Israel on October 6th still to be played.

Walle Egeli has previously won 12 U21s caps, scoring seven times, in addition to one sub appearance for the senior side.

The 20-year-old has been a key player in the campaign having scored five goals in five games and is looking forward to completing the job tonight or in the days to come.

“I’ve had a good qualifying run, so I hope to carry that momentum over and keep up this form,” he said.

“It’s going to be really exciting. It was great to join up with the squad again, we’re fully prepared and motivated for the first match now.

“Achieving this would be huge — it’s been our goal for over a year. The lads are really fired up about it, so we’re going to work hard over the coming weeks to make it happen.”

The Blues attacker’s older brother Vetle, a midfielder who plays his football with Sandefjord in their home country, is also included in the party.

Egeli needs to go out on loan to a championship side it's obvious he's not going to get much game time in the Premier league.
