New Job for Jason
New Job for Jason
Wednesday, 18th Jun 2003 23:22

Ex-Town star Jason Dozzell has become player-manager of Jewson League side Ipswich Wanderers. Dozzell retired from professional football in September 2001 due to a foot injury.

Subsequently he had aborted spells in non-league football with Canvey Island and Grays Athletic but now seems set for the occasional outing with Wanderers.

Dozzell, now 35, says the job was a surprise: "The offer came out of the blue. I'm halfway through my UEFA B coachng badge and I'm looking forward to coaching a young team and improving them.

"I'm going to need some help, and will be looking to bring someone in with the knowledge of the league and the players in the area."

Wanderers were relegated from the Jewson League Premier Division (the Ridgeons League form next season) last season and Dozzell will be hoping for a swift return.
