Gerrard Wants to Return Monday, 21st Jul 2003 15:20 Everton keeper Paul Gerrard says he is keen to make a return to Portman Road. Gerrard, who spent time on loan at Town last season, is currently third choice keeper with the Toffees. The former Oldham stopper says he likes the idea of moving to Town: "[It's] a lovely thought as they are a massive club. "It's all a bit up in the air at the moment but the thought of going back to Ipswich is certainly appealing. "It would be like moving from one Premiership club to another." Gerrard is still in contract with Everton, however, with Richard Wright and Steve Simonsen ahead of him, he has little prospect of first team football. Joe Royle worked with Gerrard at both Everton and Oldham and as Javier Sanchez Broto did not impress, the 30-year-old could be the man to end the Blues' goalkeeping headache.
