Joe: Town Shot-Shy
Joe: Town Shot-Shy

Town manager Joe Royle admitted that some of his strikers are not currently firing on all cylinders after his side made beating Kidderminster more of a struggle than it should have been.

Darren Bent was particularly profligate, however Royle felt his overall game was good: "Darren was terrific and on another day he would have scored five.

"Bowditch came on and has and sparked us and he is a great talent.

"Kidderminster have defended very well, the keeper has been outstanding, we have hit the crossbar and you wonder about lightning striking but we won and deservedly so.

"We had about 25 attempts on goal, Drissa Diallo was outstanding for us as was Georges Santos and we are creeping towards our form.

"We look a little shot-shy with Marcus and Pablo not firing properly, but we will get there."

The draw for the second round of the Carling Cup will be made on Saturday with the game played in the week commencing September 22nd.
