Skipper Jim Magilton says that the first team squad's short break in Tenerife gave the players a chance to discuss why their form has dropped in recent weeks. The Town squad were back in training this morning after returning from Tenerife last night.

Magilton told the club site: "The Gaffer thought it would be a good idea to get the players away together as a group and it worked out well.

"We trained hard while we were out there but, just as importantly, it gave us time to relax and sit as a group and talk about the remaining two months or so of the season.

"It's clear that our form has taken a dip lately and the defeat at Burnley was very disappointing, and being away together as a group gave us the opportunity for everyone to have a say on what's going right and what's going wrong.

"Football is just as much a mental game as a physical one, even more so - certainly when things are not going according to plan.

"But the break was a good idea and we have returned fresh and are all looking forward to Saturday's game against Preston."
