Former Town skipper Terry Butcher has revealed that one day he hopes to manage the Blues. Butcher is currently boss at Scottish Premier League club Motherwell but has been suggested as a potential new boss of Rangers.

Butcher said: “I've always dreamed of managing Ipswich, not so much Rangers. Ipswich have been the team I supported, I played for them, I captained them and ultimately I was sold to Rangers by them.

"I sort of think if things go full circle I might end up coaching or managing there. If it happens, it happens, but looking that far ahead is wrong.”

Motherwell, still in the final stages of exiting administration, are presently sixth in the Premier League after only avoiding relegation last season on a technicality.
