Town manager Joe Royle will not be offering Paraguayan central defender Ángel Martínez a contract at Portman Road. The 21-year-old former Tacuary player has been on trial at Portman Road.

Monaco midfielder Jimmy Juan, also 21, will continue his trial until the end of the week. If he impresses, Juan could join the Blues on loan until the end of the season.

Royle says he is looking to keep loanee Danny Karbassiyoon for a longer period. The former US U19 international's month at Portman Road is up soon and Royle told the club site that he will speak to the player regarding an extension: "Danny has settled in here and done well.

"I will sit down with him next week and have a chat about the possibility of him staying here longer.

"He looks a promising player and fitness-wise made a big improvement against Bolton on the Plymouth game."

Karbassiyoon suffered a slight calf injury towards the end of the Bolton game but is expected to be fit for the Blues' home game with Coventry City on Saturday.

The 20-year-old said last week he was keen to remain at Portman Road for an extended period.
