Winger Jaime Peters, set to sign formally with the Blues in May, put in a Man of the Match display as Canada's U20 side beat Mexico 2-1 in Honduras. The game was Canada's opening match in the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for the FIFA World Youth Championships in Holland this summer.

All the goals came in the first half, the Mexicans going ahead through Marco Antonio Parra but Ryan Gyaki netting twice to give the Canadians the points, Peters setting up the second.

Canada face Honduras on Friday and Jamaica on Sunday.

Town's Darryl Knights came on as a sub for the England U17s yesterday as they ran out 3-1 winners over France at a tournament in the Algarve.

The England youngsters face Portugal in Lagos today and Norway in Guia on Saturday.
