Trio Want to Stay
Trio Want to Stay

Out-of-contract trio Fabian Wilnis, Tommy Miller and Shefki Kuqi have all said they are keen to extend their stays at Portman Road. Skipper Jim Magilton and Guinean international Drissa Diallo also see their current deals finish at the end of June.

Wilnis has said his goodbyes to the rest of the squad but wants to be back at the club again for pre-season: "I really hope I will still be an Ipswich player next season but it is too early to say what is going to happen.

"I must sit down with the manager and see how the club feels about keeping me, but that can wait."

Midfielder Tommy Miller will be off to Cardiff at the end of May but only to watch former club Hartlepool take on Sheffield Wednesday in the League One final.

He says he wants to get his future settled soon: "There is nothing happening at the moment. I am hoping to get something sorted, sooner rather than later, but there are no firm plans for me to see the gaffer.

"I'll just have to wait and see what is arranged, then take it from there. Like I've always said, I am very settled here. It is a fantastic club with fantastic fans, so why would I want to leave?"

Miller's regular snooker opponent Shefki Kuqi would have seen an optional year on his existing deal triggered had the Blues made the Premiership, but now he too will meet with Joe Royle to consider his future: "I will sit down with the manager and discuss what's going on and what's going to happen. But I can't really think about that at the moment.

"It's very hard to say what will happen, but I have had a great season with Ipswich and it's a great club with great people to work alongside.

"I am really happy here and I have no reason to leave. I am very happy to stay and I hope we can come to some arrangement."
