TWTD understands that Town keeper Kelvin Davis will undergo a medical at Sunderland today. If all goes well the deal taking the former Luton and Wimbledon man to the Stadium of Light will be completed this afternoon.

The Blues accepted what chairman David Sheepshanks described as a "seven-figure sum" for the 28-year-old keeper late last month.

Davis held talks with the Wearsiders but the moved stalled with the former England U21 international apparently unhappy with personal terms. The keeper was also said to be a target of West Ham, although the Hammers subsequently made moves for free agents Fabien Barthez and Roy Carroll.

Last week Davis insisted that despite the delay the move wasn't off and that talks were continuing.

The former Torquay and Hartlepool loanee made 93 appearances for the Blues having signed in July 2003 from Wimbledon. Now known as the MK Dons, Davis's former club are entitled to an undisclosed but significant percentage of the fee.
