McDonald Makes Debut
McDonald Makes Debut
Sunday, 20th Nov 2005 21:14

On-loan striker Dean McDonald made his Hartlepool debut as a sub in their 1-0 defeat to Gillingham on Saturday. The former Arsenal trainee has joined Pools for a month to gain senior experience.

The 19-year-old, who trained with his temporary club for the first time on Friday, came close to scoring after being introduced in the 53rd minute when his apparently goal-bound shot was blocked by a defender.

Elsewhere, mentions of Town were rare in the weekend's tabloids. Aside from former boss George Burley being linked with Rangers, Portsmouth and Coventry, the by now obligatory Matt Holland loan link and ex-striker Richard Logan joining Lincoln on loan, the only reference to the Blues (that we've seen) was the news that Hammarby frontman Björn Runström has decided to sign a new contract with the Swedish club.

Runström was linked with Town in October but said at the time he wasn't interested in a move to the Championship which he found "dull".
