Released academy defender Scott Mitchell has agreed a two-year deal with Scottish club Livingston. Mitchell was Town's reserve captain during 2005/06 and made two starts and two substitute appearance for the first team during his time at Portman Road.

Mitchell told the club site: "The details are being finalised but I've agreed a two-year deal with Livingston and I'm really looking forward to it.

"It will mean a new challenge and a fresh start for me after being at Ipswich for many years, but it's one I'm ready for.

"I just need to be out there playing league football week-in, week-out.

"The club are determined to get back in the top division and I'm looking to play my part."

Mitchell's former academy team-mate Sam Morrow spent the final six months of the season on loan at Almondvale.
