Davis Completes Move Friday, 21st Jul 2006 12:24 Former Blue Kelvin Davis has completed his move from Sunderland to Southampton for a fee of around £1 million. Davis, who left Portman Road for the Stadium of Light a year ago for £1.25 million, had agreed personal terms with George Burley's club earlier in the week. Burley says he has always been a fan of the former Wimbledon net-watchman: "Kelvin is a big character. He has got good experience and I am delighted to have got him. "I felt that it is an area where we need a bit of cover because Bartosz Bialkowski is still a very young keeper at just 19 and he has just had a major operation, so we cannot be sure how long he will be out for. "I also think that it is important to have a bit of experience in that position and Kelvin is a player that I think highly of. "I have followed his career since he was a youngster at Luton and he has worked with (goalkeeping coach) Malcolm Webster a lot. He knows him inside out so we know what we are getting." Burley has also been linked with a move for Sunderland's other ex-Town man Tommy Miller. Elsewhere, former Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy has been confirmed as the new manager of Wolves, where Jamie Clapham is currently on trial.
