Jim: Second Half Better
Jim: Second Half Better

Boss Jim Magilton was unhappy with his side's first half display but felt they improved after the break as the Blues completed their pre-season tour with a third successive 1-1 draw, this time against Dutch side Dortrecht.

The Town manager told the club site: "We had a go in the second half and created chances.

"The players upped the tempo and started to pass the ball much better. We chopped and changed things around a bit and we were short of bodies, but the lads responded well to what we said at half-time and I'll take the second half display.

"What wasn't acceptable was the first 45 minutes. We were sloppy from the start, gave the ball away cheaply and let them dictate the pace of the game.

"I'm not having that and the players were made aware of what we want from them and, to be fair to them, they reacted positively."
