Tony Boto scored a hat-trick as Town's U18s won their annual fixture at Southwold 6-0. Also on the scoresheet were one of two unnamed French trialists, Ollie Fenn and Ian Nimmo, who netted from the penalty spot.

The Blues also fielded 15-year-old Irish midfielder Paul Murphy who is currently with Home Farm where Owen Garvan's father is a coach and with whom Garvan junior, Shane Supple, Michael Synnott and Alan Lee are all former players. The impressive Murphy is an Irish U15 international.

Meanwhile, striker Jordan Rhodes underwent surgery on his broken collar bone on Thursday and will be out of action for 10 weeks. The 16-year-old was injured in the latter stages of last week's game at Framlingham, having scored twice as a second half sub.

Also on the sidelines at present is Icelandic keeper Óskar Pétursson, who has started the season with a broken wrist for the second year running.

U18s: Plummer, Short, Watson, Smith, Robinson, Nimmo, Fenn, Boto, Murphy, Trialist, Another Trialist. Subs: Upson, Reason, Williams, Webster.
