On-trial Danish striker Sammy Youssouf has left Portman Road after his trial. The 29-year-old has returned to his Portuguese club Marítimo but Joe Royle is not ruling out signing the former Fremad Amager, Hvidovre IF, St Johnstone, AB Copenhagen and RBC Roosendaal man.

The Blues are short of strikers with Adam Proudlock, who in any case still has a knee injury, unavailable for the Owls game under the terms of his loan and Sam Parkin out for three to four months with a broken ankle.

Boss Joe Royle has failed in a bid to take Tottenham striker Grzegorz Rasiak on loan. Royle wanted the Pole to join on a short-term spell in January as cover for Sam Parkin, out for up to four months after breaking his ankle.
