Clapham Vows to Fight For PLace Fri 05th Oct 2001 10:28
Jamie Clapham has said that he wants to stay at Portman Road and fight for his place. There have been rumours for a while that Clapham is unhappy at the club and reports yesterday claimed interest in him from Southampton and Middlesbrough. TWTD has also heard that there may be a First Division club looking at the former Spurs player.

Jesper Blomqvist is again being linked with Town as well as a whole host of other clubs. The Swede was watched by several scouts as Manchester United reserves were hammered 5-0 by City's second string yesterday.

Reports this afternoon suggest that Jamie Clapham may become a target for Southampton and Middlesbrough. The left-sided defender or midfielder has failed to hold down a regular place for most of the last year and there have been rumours suggesting he is unsettled at Portman Road.

Former Town loanee Paolo Vernazza has been stabbed in the leg after disturbing a burglar at his home in north London. Vernazza was detained in hospital after the incident which saw fellow ex-Arsenal youth player Andrew Douglas receive more severe injuries.

Town's match with Fulham has moved from Saturday October 20th to Sunday October 21st with a 1pm kick-off. Town play Helsingborgs in the first leg of their UEFA Cup game the Thursday before.
