Just before half-time, Luke Chambers’s header was diverted into his own net by Curtis Thompson but referee Alan Young wrongly disallowed it having consulted his linesman with the players already lined-up for the restart. An injury time own goal from Curtis Obeng saw Town to a 2-1 victory over 10-man Swansea and through to the first round proper of the U21 Premier League Cup at Portman Road. The Blues went behind to Kenji Gorre’s first half goal after an error from Bartosz Bialkowski, Darren McQueen (pictured) equalised shortly after the break prior to Henry Jones seeing red for the Welshmen.

Town’s U18s first ever game in the newly-formed Professional Development League Two South ended in a comfortable 4-1 victory over Swansea City at Playford Road on Saturday morning. A hat-trick from Jack Marriott and a late strike from sub Tom Winter gave the Blues their first three points of the campaign.
