Hard thought game tonite. The away team built a brick wall in the first half. Town never looked like scorching, new plan required. Hit with a soccer punch before half time. Second half and a new belief. Slowly but surely we found a way. We do not like to lose up steps a Welsh wizard. Broadband our saviour. Job done another three points. 8 to go.

Apart from the penalty claim in the second half I thought the ref was pretty good. He clamped down on most time wasting as far as the rules allow. He kept up with play, was decisive and managed a difficult game well. He correctly allowed the ball to be placed on the edge of the penalty spot at a time when PV players were tampering with it. Well done I say. The game itself was hard viewing !

The reason I scored noth sets of players the marks I have is because Ipswich did not play well slow build up at times allowing Port Vale to get behind the ball and get organised the main thing was we found a way to win very important points.

Vale usually press hard. With a new manager in tow, they obviously changed tack for a game that whatever the result should give them league 1 football next season. A goal for the visitors on the stroke of half time probably added to the desire of the superblues who were level within 8 minutes. Shocking tactics from the Valiants after the awarding of an 84th minute penalty thankfully didnt put off an ice cool Broadbent. A good 3 points and on to Saturday.
Well done to the 249 who travelled.

Dont come any tougher than this . The opposition fighting for their lives and we want all the points. Great Display from the potteries especially the show from the goalie how to waste time and only get one yellow? Broadhead was amazing and really showed his extra class. TWELVE POINTS up for grabs still and we probably will need them all? Anoth excellent referee albeit NOT a Sheff weds fan! Chopping up the penalty spot is a trick we need to avoid if given the next penalty. Seems the continentals do it all the time. Most unfair and not British!

What a relief when ice cool Broadhead scored the penalty. Great to see us get what we deserved against a team set on time wasting and putting 11 behind the ball. Lovely cameo from Edwards however my MOM was unsurprisingly Broadhead.
