Class from 1 to 11 (I know that's not thing anymore) Good sub timing and impact.
Hirst's best game in a town shirt.

Ipswich didn’t play that well but Bolton were awful. Bolton’s passing and final ball were abysmal. Town could have capitalised on this much more. The pen wasn’t a pen and the corner that led to it wasn’t a corner - justice was done. Bolton are good at one thing, holding players on the blindside of the ref and then throwing themselves to the ground. The ref fell for all the tricks from both teams. At one point he blew for a free kick to Town and then waved play-on after most players had stopped! Some Town players were a little off- form. Chaplin and Luongo were disappointing. Broadhead looked our best player outside the defence. Not surprised only 17,000 Bolton fans turn up to watch this team. Outsung by 3000 Town fans. I always sit in the stands with the Bolton supporters and they always moan even if they are doing OK. Today the moaning was justified. They will struggle to make the top six. Towns goals were top class. Burns’ quick break and cross perfectly met by Hirst. Burgess charged unchallenged into the box to head in a perfect corner. I noticed in the finishing drill before the match that Hirst is particularly good at meeting crosses. I also noticed that none of the other strikers could find the back of the net. I hoped their finishing would be better in the match. It wasn’t.

Excellent refereeing, intensive match and the winner saved a penalty to boot. A very mature performance and the interchanging and sweeping passing game is showing just rewards for the training pitch motions. Ten games like this one and we get our justified rewards. 11 X MoM for Gary and MoTD - hate the BBC Big wigs! COYB
