We scored two goals today whooooooo! Ipswich ran around a bit; Freddies was quite good. The defenders stood around a lot. They scored three times and the final whistle went.

Poor goalkeeping and sloppy defending cost us this game. The lack of covering by either full back is becoming our Achillies heel while Bart is looking a shadow of previous years. Skues and Sears were our standout performers, while Downes, Edwards and Roberts put in good shifts, unfortunately two were substituted, the rest of the side were only worthy of 4/10.
The game as a whole was very watchable, but Bristol had a card up their sleeve in substitute Diedhiou who totally upset our fragile defence, and eclipsed what should have been two goal Sears and Town supporters joy of a first home win of the season.

Sears a one man army. Rest of team let him down.

Particular mention for Edwards of things that he might like to find out about. (1) Tracking back (2) Defending (3) Preventing crosses (4) Covering (5) Watching what is going on around you rather than admiring the opposition.

The man at fault for 2 of their 3 goals was our best defender lol

Interesting to see where team selection goes for Nottingham Forest. Surely Lambert will have to start making a few changes after this showing. Bart had a shocker but it sounds as though Lambert will stick with him – I seem to remember he wasn't keen on Gerkin at Colchester, although that may have been because he wanted to move him out over wages following their demotion from the championship. Spence was all over the place, but Lambert is insisting that Donacien is a centre back.
Lambert says likes the midfield work rate, but they lack both creativity and defensive solidness. Skuse has been rejuvenated under Lambert, so does Chalaboah or Downes make way - and for who? Sadly Dozzell doesn't seem to be impressing enough and will Bishop last long enough to justify a starting position? Edwards is falling to push on from early hints of promise – but it is Lankester ready for a start, or do we go back to Ward and see whether Lambert can transform his game as he has with Sears?
Roberts is clearly limited up front but he has chased hard and held up some ball – and the attack has faded away once he has gone off. Jackson hasn't impressed me – can't head the ball and is touch is not good enough, I fear. Harrison did a lot of running against Bristol but most of it was around the midfield and to little effect with Jackson in the central striker position.
I don't think Lambert can pick the same team for a fifth game though after the way they self-destructed against Bristol.
