| Your Report | Reading v Millwall Your Report added at 17:58:36 i agree with Regency. Midfield were very poor, only prepared to go sideways or backwards or constantly finding the opposition. Martin made mistake after mistake. N'Daw didn't look interested and just did what he had to! Edwards made little progress and crosses were never reached Murphy or JD. Apart from last minute surge from Drury he was no better. This of course meant that our defense had more to deal with esp their midfield (Danns looked class) and if Stead could shoot we'd have been 3 down by half time. If only JD had the same chances!! I'd have had JET on much earlier for Martin and given Luke a chance. Maybe we'd got late goal and all 3 points! |
| Your Report | Stoke City v Reading Your Report added at 13:02:30 Well what a change to see all the players in their best positions. PJ would never have got 6 points from those three games! My take on the team:- Keeper ok but no better than Loach Chambers slow into stride but better than Edwards Smith made good return even though right side not his best Higginbottom steady and seems to be directing the defence Cress well good game N'Daw my mom and can only get better Wellens is too slow for me and was shown up by their midfield so no loss if he goes back Carlos forgot his new role in first half but much better in second and should have scored Reo di ok Murphy is miles better in central role and played well Cam bell must stay to end of season, he just knows where the goal is |
| Your Report | Reading v Derby County Your Report added at 11:03:47 This is all Jewell's chickens coming home to roost! His failure to get to grips with the defence and to get a balanced squad is now so apparent. MMc has a hard job until the window opens again but even then it's looking like a delegation battle all the way to end of season. |
| Your Report | Sheffield Wednesday v Cardiff City Your Report added at 08:30:54 I'm sure that like many going to the match last night i thought tha this was one game we could win! But when i saw the line up 451 and that Drury was in an attacking role, i couldnt believe that this was the best way of getting the first home win. With JET playing wide right it became clear that PJ approach was to use him in the same role as Murphy. While JET did well, i'd prefer him in the centre with Campbell who needed better support than Drury!! Our goal looked fortunate but at least the players were doing better than late. That was until Higginbottom decided to hook the ball back into play and set up their first goal. It was a bad mistake from such an experienced player. Smith would have done better!! In the second half Derby were cutting through too easily and we were lucky that they didnt score from numerous chances. However when Campbell came off our attacking play went downhill as neither Chopra nor Scotland looked likely to score. Drury had to come off but not Campbell. Better that JET move up and Carson given a chance. For me Jewell lost the game with his negative tactics and poor substitutions. We have a team that is capable of much better but not uner Jewell |
| Your Report | Bolton Wanderers v Fleetwood Town Your Report added at 13:11:11 i didnt see this result coming but it does show how much confidence promoted clubs have in whatever division they rise to. That aside this was aside built by PJ and playing to his tune! I stil dont understand his tactics or style of play. For example he switches formations too often and they doesnt seem to be any attempt to keep the ball on the floor despite having a really small squad. PJ hasnt built a squad that looks like it knows what its doing. There are passages of good play but it almost seems by accident rather than design. Yesterday Charlton were consistent and kept plugging away even when we had control, almost like they know it would work and of cours eit did. Both Mills and Mathie have been able to provide insight in their commentry and solutions to Town's problems. I'm sure they'd make a good team with Klug and put some smiles back on our faces!! |
| Your Report | Rochdale v Bristol Rovers Your Report added at 09:44:38 Even before the first whistle you knew that Town weernt going to do well. Wolves to a man were taller quicker stronger than any of our players so it was inevitable that they would win. OK we had chances and maybe on a good day Martin could have had two or three goals. But the difference was that if they had had the same chances they would have taken them. Chambers stood up well and despite some comments i heard i thought that N'Daw at least competed but he was the same height as most our their players! Chopra was pants Smith isnt up to it at this level Cresswell and Edwards did ok but got musculed out too often, we shoudl have got Halford. Luongo did his best against giants but needs better players around him and Taylor is much the same Murphy must play in central roll otherwise his knock-ons are wasted on the wing but again he was too slow. Scotland showed determination and showed that he can mix it against big defenders. Why he isnt on the teamsheet beats me!! Drury was lucky he didnt get red carded. He's not good enough at this level, maybe ok when we play weaker sides. Loach did alright and couldnt do much with goals but he is playing with very poor defence that cant provide much protection! |
