| News Comment | Town Apply For Portman Road Planning Permission at 17:19:55
Any improvements are always welcomed.. thankfully we finally have some forward thinking owners! Unable to get a halftime beer at the game last night, because the service is SO unbelievably slow.. it's absolutely infuriating to me, and must lose the club so much needed revenue.. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Lincoln City - Half-Time at 20:15:31
Although I want to see us promoted ASAP.. the fact that no loanees started and 5 of the team came through the academy is a massive plus for me.. even if we lose tonight.. this has to be the way forward for Town. We have a really decent bunch of kids coming through.. it is time to show them after they've worked hard, they'll be rewarded with a stint in the first team.. nice one PC, thankfully someone at last with some flipping common sense |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-2 Portsmouth - Match Report at 20:04:19
Evans is putting this beloved football club back a generation and there's diddly squat the fans can do about it.. people might not be too bothered that Norwich are looking ever likely of going back up to the Premier league, but this will win over legions of new fans in the region.. our stadium is looking dated, we don't even own our pitch, the youth set up is a shadow of its former self.. the decent youngsters pushing through want to leave.. it's shambolic |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Downes Offers Nowhere Near Our Valuation at 23:56:53
This club is in total free fall.. Marcus Evans is leading us down the road and hardly anyone gives a $hit, there is absolutely no chance we will escape League 1 this season, and this will mean more young, decent, hungry players will go.. 10 years Downes has been at Ipswich, and he was shaping up to be an incredibly decent asset.. now he's pretty much someone else's.. what a crying shame |
| News Comment | Lambert Signs New Deal at 17:18:52
I'm still not totally convinced Evan's isn't a stooge.. he's inherited a decent club (albeit one that was financially in the doldrums) ..he hasn't moved this club forward in the slightest.. we are slowly going backwards.. could be decades before we recover.. I'm fed up of it all |
| News Comment | Blues Face Premier League Competition for Trialist Castro at 13:05:25
Tyler French from Sudbury had trials at many a club including us.. nearly signed for a PL side.. then Sudbury pretty much forced him out of their club.. ended up signing for Bradford.. This guy is probably worth a little punt, don't like the whole 'premier league clubs want me' attitude personally |
| News Comment | Town to Launch New Community Trust at 11:17:26
Norwich City have increased their involvement in schools in Suffolk over the last year or so.. This does my head in.. Norwich sniffing around our potential talent, being now Premier League, which could make them a more glamorous option.. I once witnessed their presence in Bury Saint Edmunds, I was gobsmacked that this could even happen.. why ITFC don't still have a club shop in Bury, along with some kind of footballing presence in the town is utter madness.. |
| News Comment | Chambers: No Reason Lodger Ndaba Shouldn't Push On at 11:10:45
Chuffed to hear stuff like this.. well done Like.. you're a credit to Town and the footballing world.. let's hope these lads push on and follow in your footsteps of decency and love of the club and game |
| News Comment | Lambert: Until It's Mathematically Impossible You Never Give In at 19:10:15
If we were winning the odd game I'd still have a little fight in me.. but sadly, it's over.. I'm genuinely not bothered by dropping down.. (short term of course) but this really is an extended opportunity of the highest order to get rid of the loan players, shape up for next season with as many young, hungry players that have the potential to turn into a league 1 winning side.. let's admit the inevitable, and crack the hell on with it.. re building our team and doing it as quickly as possible is key to the next 5 years |
| News Comment | Accrington Stanley 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:33:29
Absolutely terrible.. I've truly no idea on where we're headed as a club (other than League 1 of course) We could be in the wilderness for years with this current regime.. Us nice folk of Suffolk need to get a bit angry about the situation. |
| News Comment | Walters Out for Six Months at 18:00:22
I'd say this is fate.. perhaps we'll end up getting somebody else in on loan, when possible..and they'll do a better job than Walters would have (even though I'm a fan of Walters) ..I love how everyone (mostly) talks so negatively about things that *might* happen.. what a way to live your life. Shocking |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Bolton Wanderers - Match Report at 20:08:14
A clean sheet, still unbeaten at home this season.. personally, I thought we'd draw today after they went down to 10.. I'm not going to fully judge or even criticise PH and the player's he's brought in until Xmas (then you watch me!) It's a massive task with all the changes this season at Town, undeniably.. and I totally understand the fans wanting/demanding results (and even PH's sacking) But I don't think too many teams so far have really shown us to be much off the pace, it's amazing what a little bit of luck can do in Football, and I don't think we've had any really so far this season..and we certainly have had the odd decent half. Just a bit more quality when attacking and I'll be a happy man |
| Blog Comment | This Might Rub You Up the Wrong Way, it Might Not! at 23:37:45
Whole heartedly agree with this blog.. but how do we go about changing things? As we're so polite, do we just wait around.. perhaps a season or two until the attendance is below 10k? I am totally at a loss with Marcus Evans, forget McCarthy for a minute.. I cannot for the life of me understand what his plan for our club might possibly be.. Who on earth runs any kind of business this way? I genuinely would rather drop a division and have an owner that attempts to engage with the fans (I know most would disagree with that notion though) If someone comes up with a brainwave on how we can start to get our club back to being the happy place of my community then please tell me.. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Sheffield United - Match Report at 21:25:11
Our club is going nowhere.. I'm beginning to wonder if Marcus Evans really is a Town fan.. is he just a friend of that witch from down the road, sent here to slowly destroy our once proud club.. I mean, he may well have pumped cash in to keep us afloat, but it's such a mediocre time for a Town fan.. the whole club is totally stuck in other times.. In my humble opinion, we need totally re-branding, we live in an area where land is freely available to build on - and Portman Rd is so out dated, there needs to be a new stadium/sports complex (somewhere near the A14 to take into account Suffolks other big ish town Bury) ..if something doesn't happen soon at our club, I promise you now, other teams will take the initiative - obviously, nothing like this will happen in my lifetime.. but something does need to change pretty soon.. I live Sudbury way, and Ipswich are a bit of a laughing stock here really.. I'm fed up of us losing local supporters, our branding is terrible.. we are the biggest sporting club in our county by some margin and should be working hard on promoting this as much as possible.. Heading to Portman Rd is so mediocre, I'm not sure people at the club realise this - dodgy Burgers outside the ground, not much parking near by, expensive tickets for a couple of hours of an average experience, the worst cup of tea I've ever had was at PR.. there isn't much endearing tbh.. I genuinely believe we need change - and before Norwich get some real impetus, investment and become by far the big club of East Anglia |
