Town in Talks With Ward
at 14:51:37

I think this is a good acquisition and will probably mean we have enough in the budget to get 1 or 2 more players in to cover Centre back and Centre Forward.

Town Launch New Home Kit
at 16:21:49

Apologies, having been up in my loft and found my 1985 home and away shirts the badge didn't change (43 season dementia has set in I am afraid). LOVE the new shirt and will buy it. Perhaps we can go back to pinstrips the year after next.

Town Launch New Home Kit
at 15:00:42

Our badge changed format back in 1984-85 when we introduced red into our colour scheme. This was part of the deal when taking the adidas France national kit at the time which had a red band and three white stripes below it. Eventually we filled the red band with a Sponsor - Radio Orwell.

Judge Out for the Rest of the Season
at 18:22:15

Don't think his injured hand helped his pre-season along with QPR putting in an offer that turned his head he hasn't really been in the right place mentally all season. Time for one of the youngsters to be given a run in that position. Will be interesting to see if he is still in a Town shirt come next season or moves on.

Warnock Linked Again But No Contact With Town
at 18:07:40

Given results against lower league teams in the Cups for the past 15 years, I was pleasantly surprised by our good start. Teams have now sussed us out and play a basic game knowing we will make a mistake and be punished for it. The more it has happened the more the losing mentality from last season and acceptance of it has become the norm. Lambert has tried to do a good job in re-engaging the fans and getting them behind the team but lack of investment apart from signing Norwood and our right back in the summer and January hasn't really addressed our frailties at the back. We needed a good solid Centre back to go with Woolf and a proper left back. Watching town regularly since 81 we have always played a better brand of football when we had attacking full backs. Injuries and suspensions have robbed us of some of our creative players and then Andre is thrown in and expected to hit the ground running. Poor lad!
My gut feel is that something happened in the dressing room around the time of the Norwood car window incident as things are definitely not right and that is being reflected on the pitch in both performances and results.

A lot of us were drawn in under the new dawn by Evans and Lambert of "Get behind Us" during the summer, season ticket discounts, incentives and the odd free beer to get everyone on board. Sadly our blip was at the start of the season and we have now returned to factory settings. Lambert a man know as a "man motivator" from ex-players seems completely at a loss on how to get us out of the rut. If the atmosphere was toxic on Tuesday it will get worse game by game until the end of the season unless changes are made. I am no fan of Warnock but wasn't a fan of Royle until years later and now appreciate the quality of football played on a real shoestring. If Joe had been given money like Keane, Jewell and Magilton we might be more stable now. We wait and we wonder, I think a change of manager is imminent just hope the new appointment gets the right backing from ME rather than false promises due to "instalment structuring" which we have been plagued with in the last 2 years.

Lambert: Good Point But We Should Have Had a Penalty
at 09:48:25

2-3 weeks ago we probably would have conceded a very late goal and come away with nothing. Well played lads on what was a throwback to the old days when I used to watch football in the 70's with my dad. We have had quite a few "clear-cut" penalties turned down and some dubious ones given against us, hopefully things will balance themselves out in the coming weeks. Living in the past here I do remember an Oxford home game in the late 80's early 90's being called off really late and Oxford fans being stuck at the ground as their coach drivers needed the 2 hour break before driving back..

Blades Linked With £3m Woolfenden Move
at 10:20:51

While the Sheffield United interest if good news on the progress Luke has made, I honestly hope that he heeds the experiences of another Luke (Garbutt) who made a big money move when young and has struggled carve a career out in the game. Yes the big wages are nice but it also hampers your ability to get back on the footballing ladder. What will be will be but if we are serious about building a home grown team to challenge in the Championship at some stage, selling Luke does not tick the boxes. However I do remember the club selling Kieran Dyer, but the transfer money was reinvested by the club with some astute signings McGreal and Marcus Stewart which got us promoted that year so we do have a flip side but I would doubt whether we could recruit the players with the quality we would need with £3m no doubt paid in instalments .

Preston's Earl Signs on Loan
at 11:29:27

Gilesy, remember it well but the make weight in the deal Tarrico did alright for us after a terrible debut v Bolton in the League Cup.
Nice to see us sign a centre-half over 6 foot 2, which should help with set pieces in both boxes. The art of a near post corner flick on has been sadly forgotten these days! He is also left footed which should bring a bit of balance to the back line after numerous attempts to sign Curtis Tilt failed.

Bolton Targeting Nsiala Move

I take it that Bolton's finances are in a better state than they were earlier in the season otherwise I suspect this will be a loan. Would like Tommy Smith back but that depends on his MLS Status.

Town Talking to Everton About Garbutt's Future
at 12:38:05

Has completely lost his way at Everton, but has done well at Oxford and here on loan. Will probably be down to what his agent thinks at the end of the day as while we pay good wages it still might not be enough unless we make it back to the Championship. Still if the lad is happy here and trying to build a career then it should be a no brainer for him, particularly if Everton give him a pay off to get him off their books. Hope he makes a wise decision!

Sunderland and Peterborough Linked With Wilson

Should imagine he want to stay and for the security of him and his family needs something more than a short term contract so understand that his agent is circulating this. Up to Evans & Co to get this across the line as he is a good fit with our squad.

Evans Hoping for Handshake and Glass of Wine

I think that PL needs a public apology from Steve Evans over those remarks not just playing it down as heat of the moment stuff. One thing for certain he wont be on PL's Christmas card list.

Vincent-Young Bid Accepted Report
at 12:22:06

First Lambert Cash Signing? Would be a good acquisition as he can play full back on either side and gives Lambert some flexibility. Both Taricco and Mills could do both sides and served us well over the years, hopefully this lad will do the same. Wonder who will pick up Josh or whether he or Cotter will be part of a player exchange deal.

Trialist Wilson Set to Sign
at 11:53:47

Wish we could have picked up a left footed Centre Back but happy with this signing. Re the other postings regarding Tilt, Barnsley agreed a fee for him and then the goalposts were moved leading to them eventually kicking the deal into touch. According to the Blackpool Press feed he is about to sign a new contract with the Tangerines.

Richly deserved and has done everything he has been asked for the good of the team without quibble. This contract is a good incentive to keep him going until he is pushing for a place in the starting line-up come November. Well done Freddie!
