Blueboy1981 spot on… all competition is with the objective of winning. Hence why these are called friendlies… It gives the manager a chance to try new tactics, field new players, see what’s working and what’s not. I always remember Newcastle losing 6-1 in a friendly the season they got promoted to the prem with over 100 points! The results today win, lose or draw still equal zero points. So untwist them knickers everyone! |

We release far more young players that never go on to play at a higher level than we do release players that come back to bite us. Fair play to the lad for getting a contract elsewhere. I imagine dads contacts up north came in handy. |

I had re-root canal yesterday... That was both more successful and less painful, than watching Ipswich today. Great to obviously get the 3 points, but not very good was it... |

Lol these players must be dreading fans coming back! If they continue to play like that when stadiums are full again they'll be ripped to shreds! Forget about the past, this club currently has no character. A silent owner, another PR Paul and a toothless bunch of players. Unless you literally replaced them all bar maybe 3 or 4 (which won't happen btw, so everyone wishing for a massive clear out needs to realise that) we will still be watching the same tosh next season. As for all the fake news on here about a buy out, not going to happen, what the hell are you investing in! And no one say “the history” as the history doesn't do anything about the abject cr@p we are seeing at the moment. |
| News Comment | Portsmouth 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:07:55
I got plenty of down votes when I said yesterday my preference was Danny Cowley BUT obviously wished Paul Cook all the best as all I want is my team to do well. Well what I watched today, cemented my thoughts on that. Portsmouth get the much wanted new manager bounce, we get the same damp squib. The players aren't good enough. Without investment from whoever owns us, we will continue to underperform. |
| News Comment | Cook Returns to Portsmouth as Town Look to Get Back to Winning Ways at 18:39:24
Danny Cowley has just been named as new Portsmouth boss... gutted we missed out on him. A young, hungry, at the time available manager! Jury is still out for me with Paul Cook. I wish him all the best, as all I want is success for Ipswich. But I can't help but feel Cowley would have been a great fit! I reckon he'll be a success at Portsmouth. |

TimmyH you can't knock MM at Cardiff at the moment no matter what you personally think about him. Played 11 won 7 drawn 4... whilst playing in the Championship, and whilst getting a tune out of Kieffer Moore, that many on here blasted for apparent “mismanagement”. I'd take MM football in the championship, than the current dross I watched today. It was abysmal. |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Is Paul Cook the Next Town Manager? I Don't Have the Answer to That Question at 18:51:00
Len Brennan In my opinion he needed to go. I didn't actually make any mention of Lambert in my comment so I'm not too sure as to why you ask? What do you think? Should he have stayed or go? When the comments are toxic / bullying no I don't think there is any need for people to voice their opinions. If it is constructive and well intentioned then definitely, I'm all for healthy debate. |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Lambert's Exit Cumulation of Things and Not Related to Proposed Takeover at 15:25:41
Like any fan I really hope we make the play-offs. I even dream of us making the top 2! But the fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter who comes in, because they won't get any support from the owner. So it is down to the players to pull their fingers out and get the job done. It amazes me nowadays that all the focus is only on the managers and owners. Of course they have a huge part to play, and I would love an owner that is fully invested in our club but no-one ever mentions the players in any of this. They need to get out there and show all of us that they want it. They are more than capable of at least securing play-off football. |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Is Paul Cook the Next Town Manager? I Don't Have the Answer to That Question at 15:19:41
It is no different to any "normal" job interview. You don't confirm or say anything until paperwork has been signed. If it was to fall through at the 11th hour, everyone would be up in arms going mad. So the sensible thing is to stay quiet until it is over the line. I'm not that excited about anyone coming in to be honest. They have no chance under the current regime, and if they fail, they will be hounded out by the keyboard warriors on this forum. |

A little worrying the mention of a pension fund. Anyone with a pension knows you invest the money expecting a return at some point... Does this mean our club is going to enter a period of constant changing of ownership? Evans has his many flaws but every club should need / want consistency. |
| News Comment | Blue Action: Protest Claims Sensationalist and Exaggerated at 22:28:05
How is it on this forum that if you don't agree with BA and their actions you automatically must be siding with Evans and Lambert?! It's a nonsense view. I'm not happy with how things are going at itfc. But funnily enough, nothing has improved since the BA protest. And for anyone that says it's made the issues at the club public, we live in a 15 minute social media world now. It's yesterday's news to everyone, apart from town fans on this forum. So it hasn't actually achieved anything. If Lambert goes, which i think he should, it won't be because of anything that BA do. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Oxford United - Match Report at 17:52:40
A draw today is not good enough, and it's clearly time for Lambert to go. But one thing I'll never get my head around is when fans say they would rather we lose and the game be exciting... 🤯 there is nothing exciting about losing... must be budgies in disguise |
| News Comment | Lambert: I'm Seeing Marcus Face-to-Face Next Week at 12:22:16
He's not stupid, he is manoeuvring his way out of the club by slagging the world and its wife off. Evans will have no choice but to sack him, and then cha-ching Lambo skips off to the bank with a nice little 6 figure cheque. |
