Will you be disappointed…
at 10:41 23 Apr 2024

Regardless of if we make it or not, my big disappointment will be losing players who have taken us, fans and the club, on an amazing journey. Who all became part of a fantastic squad and team over the last two years, I hated it when Greg Leigh left for Oxford.

Were we ready in 2000? George and Dale plus most of our promotion squad didn't do a bad job of keeping us up.

Anyone got any thoughts on VAR?

Those three penalty decisions that Forest did not get make you think that could be the case.

Mark Clattenburg is nottingham forest's refree analyst

Apart from one rule (I think it is still the case) all the rules of football are open to interpretation. So as you say different refs will give different interpretations to the same incident. As we have seen at Portman Road, the same ref will sometimes give a different interpretation in the same game. The only rule to be set in stone is where a goalkeeper has hold of the ball. Also when attending games as a neutral supporter you often see decisions differently to the fans around you.

Tories post worst polling ever - 19%
at 14:27 18 Apr 2024

This is because the Conservative Party is now dominated by far right extremist's, so the only MP's who are considered for ministerial post have to also be far right as well, this has limited who is available for the cabinet posts. All the decent Tories have been left on the back bench's.

FA Cup replays to be scrapped next season
at 14:19 18 Apr 2024

I find it amusing that they call it the champions league, when it will soon be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th place league. The European Cup was always won by true champions because domestic champions were the only teams in it.

Watford

Watford looked a much better side under Tom Cleverly, I think the players will want to show they can perform in his style and set-up, so they could well be a tough side to beat even though their season is over.

A new one for the Tories - paying off 'captors' with campaign funds

A £5000 debt that increased to £6500 when paid a few hours later would appear that he owed the money to some very bad people, the question what was the payment actually for?

And Steven Schumacher at Stoke, after doing a fantastic job wining the L1 title at Plymouth, looks out of his depth at Stoke.

When I were a lad (caution; Modern Britain post)
at 09:12 17 Apr 2024

50 years ago the tennis court in my village recreation ground were kept locked, so if our football went into the court we had to climb over the 6 foot high chain link fence to get it back, our goal backed onto the fence. As you can expect every now and then it got damaged and the tennis club used to complain, we said why not leave it unlocked then we could walk in, they refused and continued to lock it and complain about the "damage". So maybe not too much has changed.

Big win for Colchester!

Especially as Basuco the younger wanted to go to the pub down that hill, we get there and it is rammed, couldn't get near the bar so didn't get a drink then back up that bloody hill. Great food and lovely little club, really good day out. On the way back someone said the park and ride bus broke down getting up the hill.

In the lower Cobbold right in line of it, we all just went silent, why the lino ignored it was very strange, but good for us, I think it would have been a yellow card and free kick but not sure.

The state of Royal Mail
at 11:41 10 Apr 2024

Regular staff who have mostly been long term employees are being replace by lower paid agency staff with no sense of duty or service commitment, what could possibly go wrong. One problem is that Royal Mail has to deliver to everywhere in the UK, other providers do not, they can pick and choose the easy addresses. So the RM have to do the expensive awkward deliveries that in the past would be subsidised by the quick easy cheap delivery sites. Like all public services if it was left as nationalised it would be a much better service, remember we used to get two deliveries a day and there were three collections a day from post boxes. We now pay much higher prices for a much reduced service, forget the politics in this it is just much cheaper and more efficient for one company to provide a National service.
