Ex-Blue McGreal Impressing Town Bosses - Report
at 13:41:33

Paul Tisdale of Exeter City - did a great job with Team Bath at University of Bath too - we should seriously consider trying to prise him from the West Country.

Like the idea of Corinne Dacre too - how leading edge that would be, given that society is finally waking up to the 50% of the world that men hitherto have preferred to minimise their abilities and skills. Would be a great advert and marketing coup for Marcus Evans Group too!!

Liverpool "Leading Dozzell Chase"
at 10:31:21

As any successful business understands, perception is often stronger than truth: if your customers perceive you and your products and behaviours negatively, then your business suffers.

This season, compared to last, is a failure.

The football has been very poor to watch.

The investment in players has seen the squad grow in quantity but the quality has diminished.

To ask MM to continue to magic something from nothing, when the three relegated sides will have tens of millions available for their new season in the Championship, will be a doomed strategy.

If Andre Dozzell, a real gem, were to be allowed to leave, then the supporters of this club can draw only one conclusion: success through promotion to the Premier League, is not the No.1 priority of the owner, the chairman and board of Ipswich Town Football Club.

Mick Mcarthy is - arguably - wasting his time and reputation here.

After eight years as owner, Marcus Evans has some serious thinking and planning to do with his first line mangement team. The current strategy is not giving the ROI (return on investment) expected or required... It is broke... And it needs fixing!

No more tinkering at the edges, that only ensures mediocrity or further decline. A wholesale change to he approach is required... NOW, with MM being given the time to significantly revamp and recalibrate for next season.

Distraught Hyam’s Thoughts With Judge
at 07:33:01

Current season now has to be written off, with the last three months certainly tainting it with the smell of failure.

All the bile against MM should stop - he has been severely constrained by a financial approach that surely will never attain promotion and , at times, when the one or two loaned gems are not available, avoiding defeat is the first priority.

Planning for next season, with the current philosophy jettisoned, will I hope begin from tomorrow. The first team squad needs real refreshing and, perhaps with an acknowledgement to the many constructive grumbles, players from the academy and elsewhere should be brought into balance a reliable defence with a desire to play attacking football the " Ipswich way".

Doing due diligence on the character of players can only give a team so much... If we want skilful players, able to drive the club forward, then perhaps Marcus Evans should release proper funds that reflect the football market place and/ or seek some additional investment to help him?

Finally, disappointment as fans, is something we all share at the moment, but a little more restraint in both the language and the bile would also create a more constructive and positive atmosphere on this site and would also be more true to the "Ipswich way"!

Good to read your comment Sibelius8. Perhaps we do have the luxury of being relaxed about DJ's possible return now. I think our 3 new acquisitions wil prove astute signings - particularly liked the Wolves signing , an impressive cameo at Cardiff.

Are you coming to the Bristol game?

If You Can't Spell, You Won't Write a Great Story.... If You Can't Score, You Won't Win a Match

39 year old, Exeter City Manager, Paul Tisdale? very successful at both Exeter and Team Bath, playing intelligent and attractive football. Could be a perfect to shadow a Harry Rednapp figure for this season before taking over next summer.

A sobering analysis and having read some of the Coventry Fans' comments after Saturday's game, you could easily be forgiven for thinking that they were simply rewriting many of the Ipswich Fans' comments from our last three or four months - apart from the name of the club and the manager, they seemed to be saying exactly the same thing and fearing the same thing... Division 1.

Of course, the real parallel, and what probably does separate from the other struggling clubs, is what you say regarding our common, lengthy histories as Top Division clubs... the management team at ITFC really do have to be careful that our glorious past does not fade to just that: 'the Past' and the allure of Suffolk is not enough compensation, if the club itself has become less than mediocre.

Dismal thoughts, but more of the last two games and we can all return to being the happy, smiling, optimists we all want to be!

A 3rd successive win on Saturday, will be a perfect riposte to all the misery... COYB!!!

Sindre - to confirm other posts: there is no question, anyone on this planet is welcome to the band of Ipswich supporters. The fact that you live in Norway is not a reason to bar you... ignore the mindless comments of the few.
ITFC, particularly this dismal version, is fortunate to have fans who are so forgiving and who, in the end, cannot give up!

..and now, let us pray.
Can the power of prayer help a club whose spirit and soul seem to have been systematically removed over the last few seasons?
Loans are short term, seeking instant gratification... How many loans and instances of such gratification have we sought with the last two managers?
Survival or not, a genuine long term vision for ITFC needs to be articulated and strategy to achieve it, published. Thereafter, every employee - on and off the pitch - should deliver against it... From CEO and manager to the team, the squad, the back room staff.
At least then we might see consistency of... selection and style of play rather than consistency of inconsistency!

An interesting read, as usual Harry, but what a depressing and pessimistic set of Doncaster opinions ... if they are true in their sentiment and DRFC really is in such a mess, even the recently out of form Super Blues should get back to winning ways: 90+ minutes of powerful but legal aggression should garner not just 3 points but 3 goals too. Fireworks early at IP1 on Saturday?

A thoughtful and well measured commentary... At this stage, with the season still a few weeks away, I absolutely agree and think that we can all feel a good deal more confident about our prospects under Paul Jewell and his team. It may well be that "Team" is the operative word and the key to our success this season.

A good optimistic view, which once more is an indictement of RK's reign of rule by fear and psychological bullying . I am still disappointed that RK failed, that he appeared not to have learned some very basic people skills... but that is in the past and PJ is already a very likeable manager: let us hope we can also describe him as an 'effective manager' too, very soon!
