Ipswich Town 2-1 Fleetwood Town - Highlights
at 19:51:35

KiwiBlue2 is right - the players are more assertive now, from being fragile in earlier games. I will be missing Plymouth game for family reasons but really hope they don't get bullied the way they were at Accrington, will be a sign of re-emergence if they can get a result there.

£10 is fine, however I won't be watching, I shall be walking the dog - haven't seen a friendly since...no, can't remember.

McCarthy Hurt By Hammering
at 20:04:46

I was at Sheffield United in ?1972? when we got walloped 7-0 (also got walloped in the other sense - those were the days!) but even then the players (right at the birth of the Robson teams that clawed their way up the league) showed passion and commitment even if they were short on the style. Yesterday there was none of that. I waited and waited patiently for a shot somewhere near the goal or an incisive move but all I saw were players passing it around with the air of "you have it - I don't want it", and eventually had to settle for the alternative entertainment provided by us and the Leicester fans and even joined in one of the mexican waves that I so despise. I stayed at the end of course as, I always do, this time mostly to see the reaction of the players and I know my eyesight is failing but I could only see a bunch of lazy, incompetent, mercenary, wasters who couldn't even be bothered to come over and apologise to us.

McCarthy Delighted to Be Back But Admits to Having a Big Job on His Hands
at 09:15:52

Anybody hear MM on Chris Evans' show on radio 2 earlier - confirms what I posted previously about MM being a media man's dream. Liked the comment about Norwich being closer to Mars than Ipswich!
I have seen flattering and unflattering comments on the Wolves fanzine sites, but they generally seem to still hold MM in high regard, most are hoping that he will 'raid' them and take their 'duff' players but I trust not, we have enough at the moment!

Hutchings Leaves Town
at 11:31:46

There was a time when we were gracious and fair to people who tried but failed, no longer it seems from SOME of these posts, it appears. MM must have the requsite thick skin to even contemplate coming here if he even glanced at this site beforehand, probably comes from his time at WW (the "football is better than sex" club)!

McCarthy Set for £1m Bonus if Town Stay Up
at 12:42:56

What's a million or two nowadays anyway?
£1,000,000 /17,738 = £56.38 / 23 = £2.45 per home game. Would you pay that much extra if it guaranteed survival?
Now come to think of it .......

McCarthy Appointment Reportedly Close
at 10:49:49

Not a McCarthy fan, but probably better in the circumstances than a 'mild mannered man' like Curbs or George (though GB has by all accounts a bit of a temper). However my 'dissappointment with MM is tempered by the reference to how Wolves played direct football under MM. As I recall, during the early days of a certain Sir Bobby Robson the Town tactics were to get the ball to the front (THREE!) early, then play around with it in the opposition's penalty area. This held mostly true even when Frans and Arnold came to the club, so from what I have seen of Wolves (when playing well) and reports here and elsewhere I am not as worried as I might have been if I had taken his reputation at face value. What is a given though is that he should get the best out of Chopra and JET (even if it's only the transfer fee!) as well as sort out some of the other time wasters.
