The hardest thing I have ever had to write
at 21:41 15 Apr 2024

The first word you wrote is often the hardest, asking for help is often the most difficult thing to do, especially for men.

As someone who has been there! I sat looking for answers in a bottle after writing a note to my wife and kids. I've been selfish enough not to care about the effects it would have on my wife and kids. I've lost half a year due to not being able to see ot talk to anyone but immediate family. I was late asking for help, I could feel the slipping of reality, I could feel the pressure of the tiniest expectation but I couldn't find anyone to talk to. I don't have a large group of friends.. In fairness I don't even have a small group of friends as getting older has meant we've drifted in our own worlds. Eventually the decision was taken out of my hands as I became parallised with fear, just laying in bed sobbing, not seeing positives in anything.

The first port of call was GP... The second was being honest with one person.. In my case my wife... But it could be anyone.. They don't have to talk, just listen and part of that process may have happened with you original post. The process with GP takes time but they will get you help. There are also plenty of great charities out there that offer similar services and I ended up medicated, and having three different lots of therapy. It takes time. You'll get frustrated. You'll have bad days. You'll have good days when you wonder what the fuss is about... These are dangerous as you can decide you don't need help anymore...

The big trick is to realise that many things don't matter... Don't really matter. Learn to realise what matters and appreciate it. Learn to understand what YOU need.. it can be as simple as 20mins a day to walk, read, run, meditate but it's something for you.

Take the compliments, take the help. Don't be hard on yourself..

My journey isn't over... I've been sober for over five years... I don't do drugs.. I don't smoke... I have bad days.. I have good days... I've stopped the medication as certain sise effects wasnt helping me.
I take joy in small things.. Bird song.. Walking my dog... Reading a book..writing my thoughts down...

This is your journey.. Do what's right for you.. You made the first step.. Keep taking the steps..

I wish you well

Norwich Hangover!!
at 15:09 6 Apr 2024

Never fancied us today! It just looked like their players wanted it more. Unfortunately, too many of our players looked off it today. The season isn't over but if we suffer from a downturn in performance and results that we had after we last played Norwich then WE WILL NEVER STOP HEARING IT!

While they may be promoted via playoffs - although I doubt it! Their whole fan base will be content with stopping us from being promoted and, if our standards slip following this setback, then be prepared to hear about it for the next ten years!

The season isn't over but Watford is a massive test!

Watford!

Watford are the sort of team that will give us problems, there are certainly no easy games in the championship.
Whatever happens it's been a great season but success increases expectations and its something we all need to remember!

Could John-Jules be someone who we're interested in?
Obviously we know all about him. Currently on loan at Derby until January. Might be worth getting him back on loan as what we saw of him previously wasn't all bad!
Thoughts?

Question for those in support of Animal Rising a couple weeks back
at 16:29 10 Jun 2023

MBR Acres & LabCorp (Huntington Life Sciences) in Cambridgeshire are in the industry of breeding & torturing beagles in the name of science, even though 95% of tests fail. Please sign & share this petition https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/633591

We are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers and dog s are supposed to be man's best friend.

I really don't understand why anyone wouldn't sign the petition.. although I appreciate we are all individuals.

I will keep trying to end this suffering.

MBR Acres and LabCorp.
at 19:11 4 Jun 2023

Those of us at a certain age will recall the furore about Huntingdon Life Sciences back in the day and the discussions about vivisection and animal testing. I thought it was a thing of the past and then I discovered MBR Acres and LabCorp.
MBR Acres is based just outside Huntingdon and is the UK's largest puppy farm. They breed beagles in converted pig sheds and these beagles are kept in cages with an automated lighting and feeding system. They never get let out to feel the sun and rain. On average they breed 2000 puppies a year at MBR. Once these puppies reach 20 weeks old they are sold to labs for testing on.
Huntingdon Life Sciences use to be the main lab in Huntingdon where animal testing happened but the uproar of locals and the constant attention of the animal rights movement had them on the ropes... until the government saved them....they eventually were brought out by (you've guessed it) LabCorp, who are still on the same site and still testing on animals. LabCorp is one of the biggest purchasers of beagles from MBR in the UK. At LabCorp the beagles will be burnt, have bleach poured down their throat via a tube or forced to breathe in toxins via gas masks. This happens until the Beagle's die. If they don't die they are killed as they no longer have a value to LabCorp.
Beagle's are used as they are reluctant to bite and have a placid nature.

I honestly thought these practices didn't happen anymore!

There are alternatives, using these alternatives would put LabCorp and MBR out of business and the results would be more reliable since over 96% of tests performed on animals fail when tested on humans, as we are not the same.

Camp Beagle have been camped on the verge outside MBR Acres holding this practice to account and documenting the movement of beagles in a non violent way since July 2021. They currently have a petition asking the government to direct more money to non animal testing. Please sign it and share it with friends and family and on your social media as I'm sure, if you visited Camp Beagle, the haunting cries of the puppies would weigh on your consciousness forever.

If you wish to know more then there are video's on You Tube of Huntingdon Life Sciences, LabCorp and MBR Acres.

Thanks

If, at the beginning of the season, you were told that come January Ipswich would be within seven points off top with game in hand and had just spent £1.5m on a striker you'd have wet yourself and took it.

Have faith.

Unfortunately people believe what the media tell them about Union Barons and forget if it wasn't for unions we'd have no paid holiday, no sick pay, etc.
As far as I'm concerned everyone should join a Union. For a small amount of money you can get legal advice on work matters and more! You also help your colleagues and yourself in pay reviews.
Join a Union!

Cost of Greed Energy Crisis.
at 12:47 10 Aug 2022

Suppose you renationised energy, all that "profit" that currently goes to bosses and shareholders could be used by the government. The government could use it to cap the increase at 4% (like the French have with EDF) and subsidise any potential lose. They could certainly compensate to avoid huge spikes in foreseeable future.
Privatisation was meant to provide a competitive market to give the best outcome for the consumer.
