Whilst never going to be in the “legend” bracket, like Edwards and Leigh he’ll be fondly remembered as part of the 2022/23 squad that delighted and excited us in equal measure and has ultimately enabled us to be where we are today.

On 15th December 1982 we beat Everton 3-2, with goals from Wark, Brazil and Gates. Quite a change 40 years on going to Barrow in a Second Round FA Cup replay.
