| News Comment | Morsy: It Was Made Clear From Upstairs Boro Wanted to Sell Me at 11:32:39
Of all the 19 signings, I think that Morsy is primary one. The type of player he is and the job he does in a team is exactly what we need at the moment. Give him the armband and I've no doubt he'll drive us to promotion. |
| News Comment | Training Ground Subject of Land Registry Purchase Searches By Takeover Consortium at 10:54:30
Help needed. Does ME presently own the training ground and these searches are just to confirm this and register an intention to buy by the new owners? As for Bent Lane I presume ME does own this as it's been stated that he wants to keep the bit of it which may be sold for development. Sorry to be a bit of a dummy but would like to be up to date and understand the takeover better when it happens. |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Great Opportunity For Gill at 17:09:29
I agree Lord Mac. Cook has been linked with the job ever since a potential takeover came to light. I feel sure that the new owners have already approved Cook's appointment and as for the takeover I reckon there might not be a deal on the table formally but it's agreed in principle and just needs some legal details to be finalised. |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Tried For a Couple and Lost Out to Other Teams But We'll Try Again at 11:19:50
I know there are salary cap restrictions but isn't it so sad to hear Lambert say that we wouldn't even have the finances to buy a player (even if the restrictions permitted) that would be good enough to get us out of the third tier of English football. Evans, you've got so much to answer for with your ongoing underinvestment. |
| News Comment | Merry Christmas From TWTD at 19:57:54
Thanks Phil and Gav for hosting a great site which is so much enjoyed. Merry Christmas guys and hopefully a much safer and calmer 2021. |
| News Comment | Hurst: You Can’t Give Goals Away Against a Side Like Boro at 09:02:54
It's all very well calling for a change of manager but a new one would still be lumbered, until January at least, with the same squad of players who seem incapable of raising their game to Championship standard. Nolan particularly seems out of his depth and one up front gives us no attacking threat. I'm afraid the captain is a liability and any competent free agent who plays central defender must be able to do a better job. Good to see Andre back as we desperately need some creativity in midfield. I hope you can sort this shambles out very quickly PH otherwise we need a change to give someone else more “Championship savvy” to give us hope. |
| News Comment | Kuqi: Why I Want to Be Town Boss at 11:56:27
Such an important appointment this next one bearing in mind our current situation. Feel we need a younger manager with experience in the leagues over here. Paul Hurst of Shrewsbury for me as he seems to play the kind of football we want to see. |
| News Comment | Kuqi: Why I Want to Be Town Boss at 11:41:06
Much as I love the guy, feel someone younger with experience of managing in uk is required as this is such an important decision in our current situation. Paul Hurst of Shrewsbury for me. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: We've Got to Stick Together Or It'll Really Go Pear-Shaped at 09:35:03
Having now admitted to the players that the atmosphere in the stadium is down to him, he surely must be leaving otherwise the atmosphere will be the same for the rest of this season and into next. The only way for it to change is for the manager to leave. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Unhappy With Result But Not Performance at 12:27:50
My first Town game was the one in 1962 against Floriana. Since then there have been some highs but in recent years just about all lows. I've tried to keep the faith but now I'm just fed up of trying. I just couldn't give a stuff how my team get on any more, feel nothing but apathy for the way the present regime run and manage the club and also feel very bitter towards them all for letting this happen to my team. |
| News Comment | Williams: Poor Start Led to Poor Performance at 09:45:24
The problem is that our players train together. Our forwards aren't very good so the defenders think they are better than they are; our defenders aren't very good so the forwards score a few against them and think they're doing ok. Come match day when the defenders play against good forwards they concede too easily and when the forwards come up against good defenders they realise that scoring a goal is far more difficult. Good job we've got an ace goalkeeper. Now he is good! |
